I chose this assuming that the Fiend-Blooded requirement of Knowledge (Planes) 8 has been removed or reduced. I chose to forgo going Warmage 7 and thus lose the advanced learning and Sudden Empower abilities for a couple reasons. The Advanced Learning is unnecessary, as the Fiendish Sorcery ability does nearly the same thing, but giving more versatile choices in spells. Sudden Empower is a sad loss but I believe that reaching Fiendish Exaltation quicker is worth it. Opinions? Suggestions of spells, feats, flaws, skill tricks, etc? |

I am not sure of the link, but I am sure someone else can get that to you. Fiend-blooded is a good prestige class, though I would pass on the 10th level if at all possible (save it for epic). |

I think there is a thread on the CO boards on the best spells to pick for the Fiend-blooded. Some of the Druid ones are sweet. |

I'm not sure about this and have never heard it before. Advanced Learning is a separate class feature of the warmage and wouldn't get advanced without levels in warmage(or another class that offers Advanced Learning). Its a good idea and would help the poor old warmage out, but I haven't heard it before and I am a big warmage fan. Otherwise, yes take Fiend-Blooded and no, don't take the 10th level. If the 10th gave you all the benefits of the half-fiend template(mainly the SLAs) I would take it, though. In regards to your build, it might be wise to do Warmage5/Fiend-Blooded(how ever many)/Warmage2. Save the Advanced Learning from 6th to a higher level and use the PHB2 Eclectic Variant to pick up a useful spell. Even using traditional Advanced Learning, you can pick up a much higher level spell(7th) doing it this way. Another trick, take Sudden Empower as a feat. This changes the bonus feat to "any metamagic feat". By delaying it you can pick up something more useful later on, but still have the utility of Sudden Empower earlier in your career, which is when the warmage shines. -AS- |
