I want a two level dip in a Prestige Class that gives me the following: Full caster progression, on those two levels That's it :D.... Any ideas??? (Besides Divine Oracle) |
| Templario03-13-07, 10:28 AM | You should told us your skill ranks, feats, spells, attributes, saves, 'cause they're the main pre-requisites to some PrC. I believe Abjurant Champion could fit you. Let me see the pre-requisites... BAB +5: humm you don't have it yet Combat Casting: I don't know which talents you have You must be able to cast at least 1 abjurant spell. Do you have one? Proficiency is ok. That's it. :P |
| ShneekeyTheLost03-13-07, 08:37 PM | I don't think you qualify for any PrC's with that build. I suggest your next level be Fighter, then another level of Paladin (which grants you immunity to Fear and Diseases and gives your allies +4 bonus vs fear effects), then go Abjurant Champion for full spellcasting and full BAB. After five levels of that, if you're wanting to do both spellcasting and mele fighting, go Eldrich Knight. It might help more if you can tell us what you are trying to do with your build, and what you want to do with your character. |
| joseccb03-13-07, 11:03 PM | I wanted to do: Paladin2/Sorcerer2/Fighter1/DivineOracle2/AbjurantChampion5/Spellsword1/Eldritch Knight8 BAB +18 Sorcerer Caster level 20 (Practiced Spellcaster (not conformed with abjurant champion ability), Able to cast level 8 spells The other way that i wanted to do it was: Paladin2/Sorcerer2/Fighter1/divine Oracle4/Abjurant Champion5 Spellsword1/Eldritch Knight6 The difference is that I get more abilities for those 2 levels of divine oracle but I reduce 1 BAB... so, i want to take other PrC rather than divine oracle bcoz the prereq is killing me... i dont want to pay skill focus knowledge religion... when there are too many feats i want (Quicken Spell, Easy Metamagic, Arcane Strike, Power Attack, blah blah blah) |
| Templario03-14-07, 02:44 AM | pick more levels from eld. knight them. |
| ShneekeyTheLost03-14-07, 07:53 PM | I wanted to do: Paladin2/Sorcerer2/Fighter1/DivineOracle2/AbjurantChampion5/Spellsword1/Eldritch Knight8 BAB +18 Sorcerer Caster level 20 (Practiced Spellcaster (not conformed with abjurant champion ability), Able to cast level 8 spells The other way that i wanted to do it was: Paladin2/Sorcerer2/Fighter1/divine Oracle4/Abjurant Champion5 Spellsword1/Eldritch Knight6 The difference is that I get more abilities for those 2 levels of divine oracle but I reduce 1 BAB... so, i want to take other PrC rather than divine oracle bcoz the prereq is killing me... i dont want to pay skill focus knowledge religion... when there are too many feats i want (Quicken Spell, Easy Metamagic, Arcane Strike, Power Attack, blah blah blah) Keep in mind that while your effective caster level for determining level-dependant effects may be 20, you only have the spell selection of a 16th level sorcerer. In other words, no 9th level spells. Your build smacks of MinMaxIsm, unfortunately it's a fairly poor try. Here's a better way to do it: Fighter1/Sorc6/EK10/Spellsword1/Archmage2 Congratulations, you have 9th level spells. Even better, with AM2, you have Mastery of Elements and Mastery of Shaping, which gives your limited selection of spells a LOT of extra ground to cover, being able to edit your elemental flavor type and shape means you can pretty much grab a few select nuke type spells (Scorching Ray, Fireball, Cone of Cold, and probably Chain Lightning or DBF), and use them to their utmost, even being able to drop nukes down in the midddle of the party without hurting your allies. 9th level spells >>> BAB. Time Stop or Wish is way more powerful. Even better: Fighter1/Wiz5/EK10/AbChamp4 9th level spells, BAB of +17, pretty much everything you want, and nothing you don't. If you're going for Spellsword just for the ASF reduction, there's better ways around it... Thistledown Padding reduces ASF 5%, Mithril reduces by 10%, Twilight enchantment reduces a further 10%, and Faycraft also reduces ASF by 5%. Together, this is 30% reduction in ASF. So grab Mithral Faycraft Brestplate +1 Twilight. 0% ASF, +5 base bonus to armor with another +1 enchanted on, and max dex bonus of +5. Toss on a Mithral Faycraft Large Shield for even more goodness at 0% ASF. |
| Treymordin03-15-07, 06:53 PM | I am not sure that you would be as effective in any class with the build that you have presented to us. Get rid of the pally levels and maybe pumpt more into Fighter or Sorcerer or both. |
| The_Shaman03-17-07, 08:54 AM | Spellsword, abjurant champion, and eventually EK are all valid. You could also go for Dragonslayer or Platinum Knight (both from Draconomicon), which give 1/2 progression for your casting, but you might need 1-2 more feats. Generally, imo improving your caster level (and spells known/per day) would be important if you want go for pure power, otherwise pick something that goes with your character. Edit: if you're a paladin, you're close to exalted anyway, so Fist of Raziel shouldn't be that much of a powerchoice. |
| Cold Napalm03-17-07, 09:58 PM | Even better: Fighter1/Wiz5/EK10/AbChamp4 Thats rather poor... Fighter 1/wizard 5/Ek 8/spellsword 1/AC 5 makes for same CL, same BAB but more HP AND you can ignore 10% ASF so that twilight enchantment can go to something more useful (or twilight a mithril fullplate). |
| joseccb03-18-07, 11:15 AM | I just wanted to know which prestige classes did i qualify for at that moment... I know there are better builds than the one im using... if that would be the question I would post it on character optimization....:( |
