05-26-07, 04:47 PM Hey, jsut to give you guys a reason why I'm trying to make this, is because I think the Ranger Animal Companion is severely underpowered.

Before I start going into PrC progression, I would like some ideas from everyone so I can then tweak my ideas to fit in.

BTW, this PrC is meant to make the Animal Companion better, not the party's combat thing. If you read the Familiarist (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=775235) PrC posted on the forum, I was looking for something similar, but more geared towards the Ranger and his role in the party.

05-27-07, 12:42 AM Hmmmm.....looks interesting. Close to what I want, but it focuses a bit TOO much on ranged combat. I'm looking more for something that work with TWF Rangers also. But, if you don't mind, can I borrow some of the abilities to toss into this?

05-27-07, 12:56 AM Feel free to take from it whatever inspiration is helpful. If you make another thread using things that are quite similar, a little credit and a link would be appreciated, of course, but it's essentially free material for you to use. :)

05-27-07, 10:30 AM I would also suggest the animal lord for a slightly tarzan-like feel. As for a slight revision of the ranger class itself, I've heard people who've tried and are content with giving the ranger an effective druid level - 3 for animal companion purposes.

05-27-07, 10:57 AM I was thinking of putting into this class that it changes the Ranger's effective Druid level to Ranger -3.

Also, I don't want to give him MORE animal companions, just buff up his first one. If you read the Familiarist PrC in my first post, I'm going for that same kind of theme but more Ranger related rather than Sorc/Wiz.
