| Sickseelah09-14-07, 02:49 AM | Ok so i'm confused as to whether I want psywar or Warmind. But in order to achieve warmind i need psionic knowledge etc. So what got me thinking was this. Say I only have 3 level of Psywar and 1 Level of Warmind and however many levels of another class to meet Warminds requirements. How would the psionic power points and power list look? At level 3 a Psywar has:3 power points, 3 powers known, and only 1st level maximum powers. However 1 more level of psywar would allow it ot have 2nd level maximum powers. At level 1 a Warmind has: 2 power points, 1 power known, and only 1st levle maximum power. So if i had 3 levels of Psywar and 1 of Warmind would it be... 5 power points, 4 powers known, all 1st level powers as maximum? Or is it something else? Also two more questions, I hear a lot of people mentioning this Tashlatora feat but I haven't a clue which book it is from, could you guys enlighten me on that subject as well? If i take 2 monk levels then convert into a psywar, would it be possible for me to at some point go to Fist of Zuoken despite not being able to "advance monk levels" due to multiclassing without Tashlatora? |

But, your 3 psychic warrior powers known are treated as manifester level 3, while your 1 war mind power is treated as manifester level 1. Manifester levels from different manifesting classes do not stack. Only classes with "+1 level existing class" improve your other class's manifester level. EDIT - fixed the war mind power manifester level - fat fingered the number. Should have been 1 - you have 1 level in War Mind. |
| Sickseelah09-14-07, 11:05 AM | Btw does Biofeedback stack with other damage reductions? ie: Warmind gains damage reduction 1 at level 3, if i use biofeedback(which gives damage reduction 2) does that stack to make 3 dmg reduction? or is it only 2? |
| Bacris09-14-07, 11:12 AM | You use the highest of the two - damage reduction doesn't stack. |
| Sickseelah09-14-07, 02:12 PM | Under the requirements for warmind it says i need 8 knowledge in psionics. Does this mean the earliest level i can get into this class is Level 5? Or is there someway to get around that? |
| Lycanthromancer09-14-07, 02:21 PM | You can never have more ranks in a skill than you have HD + 3. So you must be at least level 6 before taking a level in the class. |
| Racinante09-14-07, 06:02 PM | Or, to be a bit more clear, you can take the class when you become a 6th level character. You must meet all prerequisites for a prestige class before you can take the class, and the class is chosen before any thing else is done when advancing a level. You cannot add skill points, feats, or an additional point to an ability score, etc. when you level up to qualify as you must choose and qualify before any of these things are done. |
| Sickseelah09-14-07, 09:17 PM | Didn't wanna start another thread on Psicrystals. Yes I did look in the FAQ but it doesn't really state what i'm asking. Regarding PsiCrystals, in the XPH it states that "A psycrystal grants special abilities to its owner, as shown on the Psicrystal Special Abilities table below. In addition, a psicrystal has a personality which gives its owner a bonus on certain types of checks or saving throws..." What i'm not sure about is what it grants, or does it grant everything as is shown in Psicrystal special abilities chart? Ie: Owner level 3rd-4th Natural Armor adj: +1 Int Adj: +1 Special abilities: Alertness, improved evasion, persaonlity, self propulsion, share powers, sighted, telepathic link, Deliver touch powers |
| jbsaff09-14-07, 09:32 PM | Those bonuses are granted to the Psicrystal, based on the level of the owner. Some (like Alertness, Share Powers, Telepathic Link, Deliver Touch Powers) also affect the owner in various ways. The personality of the psicrystal determines type of bonus that the owner gets due to having the psicrystal. This is different and in addition to the abilities listed above. |
| Bacris09-14-07, 10:10 PM | What i'm not sure about is what it grants, or does it grant everything as is shown in Psicrystal special abilities chart? Not to sound rude, but if you read the abilities, it sort of covers that... Psicrystal Ability Descriptions: All psicrystals have special abilities (or impart abilities to their owners) depending on the level of the owner, as shown on the table above. The abilities on the table are cumulative. Natural Armor Adj. (Ex): This number noted here is an improvement to the psicrystal’s natural armor bonus (normally 0). It represents a psicrystal’s preternatural durability. Intelligence Adj. (Ex): Add this value to the psicrystal’s Intelligence score. Psicrystals are as smart as people (though not necessarily as smart as smart people). Alertness (Ex): The presence of a psicrystal sharpens its master’s senses. While a psicrystal is within arm’s reach (adjacent to or in the same square as its owner), its owner gains the Alertness feat. Improved Evasion (Ex): If a psicrystal is subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, it takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw and half damage even if the saving throw fails. Personality (Ex): Every psicrystal has a personality. See Psicrystal Personality, below. Self-Propulsion (Su): As a standard action, its owner can will a psicrystal to form spidery, ectoplasmic legs that grant the psicrystal a land speed of 30 feet and a climb speed of 20 feet. The legs fade into nothingness after one day (or sooner, if the owner desires). Share Powers (Su): At the owner’s option, he can have any power (but not any psi-like ability) he manifests on himself also affect his psicrystal. The psicrystal must be within 5 feet of him at the time of the manifestation to receive the benefit. If the power has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the psicrystal if it moves farther than 5 feet away, and will not affect the psicrystal again, even if it returns to its owner before the duration expires. Additionally, the owner can manifest a power with a target of “You” on his psicrystal (as a touch range power) instead of on himself. The owner and psicrystal cannot share powers if the powers normally do not affect creatures of the psicrystal’s type (construct). Just sort of FYI, since it seems pretty straight-forward. The abilities listed are cumulative - and personality is one of them. |
| Sickseelah09-14-07, 11:07 PM | ok thanks for responding, the main thing i was wondering about was whether or not the owner received the Natural armor and Intelligence bonuses. |
