When Manifesting Body adjustment as a Psi-like ability, do people manifest as Psions or Psiwar?

Ans: In all the examples I could find, they manifested as Psions.

Who gets Body Adjustment as a psi-like ability? If it is a racial psi-like ability then it should be manifest as the racially favored manifesting class (if applicable). Failing that, go with psychic warrior just because it is more favorable. Most psi-like abilities listed for PC races have a manifester level of half the character's hit dice, so using the psion/wilder cost would make the return so low as to almost not be worth the effort.

Phrenic creatures.

.. and Phthisic ... and Thought Slayer ... Udoroot ...

Yeah ... looking at the Phrenic template ... all those powers are on the Psion list (a couple on Telepath, 1 on Nomad and 1 on Egoist) ... not all of them are on the PsyWarrior list ... (ie Mind Thrust, Ultrablast, Fission ...)

I'd have to say as a Psion ... :tiphat:
Funny, the only critter in the XPH that actually out and spells it out is the Mind Flayer ...

I think the Thought Slayer is the best to illustrate.

It tells us he's a 14th level manifester.
It tells us he can manifest Body Adjustment for 5d12 ...

A 14th level PsyWarrior could manifest Body Adjustment for:
3 pp = 1d12
+10 pp = +5d12
+1 pp = not enough for another augmentation...
Total: 6d12

A 14th level Psion, however:
5 pp = 1d12
+ 8 pp = +4d12
+1 pp = not enough for another augmentation...
Total: 5d12 ..

Looks like it's as a Psion ...
