Any dragon-related powers out there ? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-03-07, 07:12 AM I know there are several spells related to dragons and/or use to counter draconic attacks, such as platinum ray, chromatic ray and suppress breath weapon. Are there powers out there with the same uses ?

06-03-07, 12:29 PM No. Psionics doesn't have those kinds of very specific effects. Psionic powers are more general. For example, if you wanted to stop a red dragon from breathing fire you wouldn't use your power to "stop red dragons from breathing fire", you would use your power to "telepathicaly forces a creature to stop breathing" or your power to "psychokineticaly manipulate heat and flame."

What do platinum ray and chromatic ray do? There may be some way to get a similar effect, even if there isn't an exact copy of each spell.

If suppress breath weapon does what it sounds like it does, then there are a few ways to achieve similar effects. Crisis of breath will stop the dragon from breathing at all, control air could blow the breath weapon away from you, and energy manipulation (CPsi) will reduce the damage dice of fire/cold/electricity/sonic/acid-breath.

Not specifically, but you can still find all sorts of fun multi-use powers or make your own.

Entangling ectoplasm forces a dragon to fly at exactly half speed each round or go into a stall (it doesn't work like a tanglefoot bag, read the condition description for entanglement and the description for the flight ability). Evade burst lets you get instant evasion against breath weapons.
