Ascetic Warrior ? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-20-07, 07:02 AM I think everyone would agree that Psionic Fist sucks... especially if your a naturally psionic race. Im making a Gitarea character, a naturally psionic creature, whos favored class is monk. So, if you were my DM, would you allow this feat into your game? (Keep in mind his game is heavily psionic already)

Ascetic Warrior
Prereq: Still Mind Class Feature, Ability to manifest two 1st level powers
Benifits: Your Monk levels and your Psychic warrior levels stack for determing your unarmed strike damage, monk speed bonus, and Power Points per day. In addition, you may multiclass freely between Monk and Psiwarrior. You must still remain lawfull to continue advancing in Monk levels, and you suffer any multiclassing penalties as normal.

Ascetic rogue, Hunter, and Knight are all avalable after one level of each of the respective classes. Ascetic Mage requiers one level of monk, and 4 of sorcerer. This feat requiers 3 levels of Monk, and 2 Levels of Psiwarrior. You lose 3 manifester levels and it dosnt have the benifit of allowing you to turn spells into extra damge or change your armor stat to something else, so the addition of speed bonus and power points seems fair. This also makes it slightly less powerfull than taking levels in psionic fist, as that also advances your AC bonus.

So.... what have you?

12-20-07, 10:38 AM Have you checked out Secrets of Sarlona from the Eberron campaign setting? In it, there's a feat called Tashalatora -- it's almost identical to what you're trying to brew. It stacks any psionic class with the Monk's UD, AC bonus, and FoB (sorry, no speed bonus). It's the most recommended feat for a Monk/PsyWar.

Ok, ill try and get a copy of the book and check it out. But assuming that feat dosnt exist in my DM's universe, does anyone have any thoughts on mine?
