| MindFlayerZoidberg04-23-08, 03:28 AM | I searched through some threads and have looked through the Monster Manuals, so I have a good idea of what monsters to use at 7th level but wanted to get input from here. I have access to MM 1-3, and 5. Mainly looking at monsters with HD at 7-8 (I have overchannel). Also, I probably am not going to use the hydra for awhile; that will just get my DM gunning for me. It is easy enough to find a good Strength, AC, and natural attack qualities in a monster, but I was wondering which monsters are most optimal for: 1) flying 2) swimming 3) burrowing 4) manifesting in Thanks for any advice, and any monsters to look up in the future. |

I like at least SOME semblance of balance) for sheer brute force is the Treant form - lovely little plant immunities, Huge size, 27 strength, and a ton of natural armor. For manifesting, land and air movement, and general-asskicking that doesn't involve attacking opponents in melee... I really enjoy the Shadow Dragon in the Draconomicon. small or medium size, great fly speed with decent maneuverability, awesome natural armor, and an 80' landspeed. For the other various types of movement modes, dragons really do rock. Gold dragons are the kings of the sea (with great natural armor), for example. |
