03-29-07, 08:31 PM by the rules... no an elocator never touches "solid ground" so cant use this power. I would however be inclined personally to allow an elocator to use this power if they remained within 5 of the surface they were scorning.

"Move at her normal speed" means all speed bonuses (and penalties) apply, including the one providied by Skate. Thus, 1 ft. is the limit for Skate to function.

Now, Scorn Earth allows characters to function on vertical surfaces. An Elocator running down a wall with Skate gains the +15ft. circumstance for going down an incline. One running up a wall gains no bonus, and one running along the wall horizontally gains the standard bonus.

While that would be how i would like to play with the power (i am an elocator at the moment) i think your missing the key part of the power that states "on solid ground" as the elocator never touches the stuff its simply not possible (by the rules).

That means Skate would let you slide on this surface instead of running on it, increasing your speed. All you're doing is propelling yourself vertically and horizontally. This is one possibility.

Because Scorn Earth and Skate are supernatural, the exact mechanics of how they operate in-game are unknown. Their interaction with other supernatural effects is given by ignoring extraneous text.

So, while you can say Skate explicitly needs solid ground to function, Scorn Earth states that 'while within 1 ft., treat yourself as being on solid ground'.
