My psicrystal would need to take a pearl out of a figurine's mouth and throw it out of the room before the room is deluged with water. I was wondering if it's ectoplasmic legs can throw.

Alternatively, would 2 hours of rest regenerate any power points at all, or is it 6 hours + only that work?

It has a Strength of 1. For a Diminutive creature, that gives it a Light load of 0.75 lb, a Medium load of up to 1.5 lb, and a Heavy load of up to 2.5 lb (or twice those figures if it's ruled to be a quadruped). Assuming the pearl weighs only a couple of ounces and the DM agrees that its spidery legs qualify as manipulating appendages, it should be able to throw the pearl with a range increment of 10'. Its base attack bonus should be as a Wilder of your level, with an additional +2 bonus for Dexterity and +4 for Size. The DM may waive the -4 nonproficiency penalty since it's not actually trying to cause damage, just get the pearl into a particular square.

Why does the psicrystal need to worry about the water? It's a Construct. It doesn't need to breathe, and it should be able to climb just as well underwater as above water.

Also, you don't regenerate any PP at all unless you get 8 hours of rest (plus one hour for each interruption of that rest), and then concentrate for one full round.

Throwing something an appreciable distance is one thing, but it can definitely pick up things. It has a climb speed. It has as many legs as you want (probably defaults to 8 since it's "spidery"). If it's grip is strong enough to suspend it upsidedown from a ceiling, then it's strong enough to pick up a pearl.

And a psionic creature needs at least 8 hours of rest to regenerate it's power points.

Thanks! Could water filling a room at high speeds bang the psicrystal up and damage it beyond repair?

It depends on how fast the water is moving. Which depends on your DM. Very fast moving water could batter it against the walls, or other things in the room.

IIRC, there are rules in the DMG for what happens when someone is caught up in fast moving water. If not, you could probably adapt the rules for high-speed wind. Just keep in mind that your psicrystal won't float like a fleshy thing would.

THis makes it sound like strength is only for the purpose of self-propulsion, though.

This is D&D! Think outside the box. Nothing in this universe has only one potential purpose.

Spiders can pick things up with their legs, and a psicrystals legs are "spidery." That's good enough for me.

It only has a Strength and Dexterity score while its self-propulsion ability is active. Otherwise, it can't move-- it's paralyzed-- which makes Strength and Dexterity nonabilities. But once it's self-propulsion is active, it has Strength and Dexterity. What it can attempt to do with them is limited only by its anatomy.

As for getting bashed up in a flood, remember that it has Hardness 8, so it'll have to get smacked around pretty hard. And it may be allowed Climb checks to avoid getting swept away (by clinging to a surface isntead).

Well, if you are 15th leve+, you can channel powers through the psicrystal. Get the telekinetic-line of powers as well as far hand and do it that way....

Can a creature without a head wear amulets?

Can a creature without a head wear amulets?I dunno. Change the slot if the DM complains. It is still cheap and very useful.

Tie the amulet around it with a very firm knot. Sorted.
