The Cerebremancer has the following prereqs:

Skills
Knowledge (arcana) 6 ranks, Knowledge (psionics) 6 ranks.

Spells
Able to cast 2nd-level arcane spells.

Psionics
Able to manifest 2nd-level powers.

would a Psiwar/Warlock be able to qualify with Invocations?

I'm inclined to say no, but don't warlocks have some jive that allows them to qualify for prestige classes with arcane spellcasting requirements?

If you like the idea of a mediocre-damage ranged-weirdness specialist with crappy BAB and hit points, go for it. At worst, you end up wasting a character sheet.

Sadly no, as you need arcane spells. If it said, "Arcane caster level 3rd", the 'lock could qualify.

Warlocks can also qualify for the requirement of being able to cast a specific spell if they know an invocation that imitates said spell (says "as the spell" in its description).

:teach: Yes, but they still can't cast 2nd level spells.
They can substitute for specific spell requirements or caster level requirements, but that's it.
Invocations are still SLAs, not spells.

You could, however, do this:

Psychic Warrior1 /Ardent2 /Warlock1 /Battle Sorcerer 4

And then just apply the cerebremancer caster level and manifester level increases to Psychic Warrior and Warlock.

You could even use Precocious Apprentice to qualify faster (assuming your DM is okay with that interpretation).

1. Sorcerer 1, Precocious Apprentice
2. Ardent 1
3. Psychic Warrior 1, Practiced Manifester (Ardent)
4. Warlock 1
5. Ardent 2
6. Cerebremancer 1

Though, having only a +1 BAB at 6th level might not be a great choice.

I know. I was saying something irrelevant. On purpose.

It's easy enough to adapt.

Psy War 4 for 2nd level powers.
Warlock 1 with a careful selection of your 2nd level "spell".

Better would be Warlock 1 / Ardent 2 with Practised Manifester.

Semi-totally kosher would be Wilder and intentionally allowing a PP recharge set-up.
Sorc 1 with Precocious Apprentice / Wilder 4
Kinda acts like a Warlock.

Have fun.

To the OP.

I would be inclined to go Ardent/Wiz/Cereb with some Reserved Feats.

Get the Natural World Mantle, too.. could be interesting with Metamorphosis and some Reserved Feats.

that would be the obvious choice to me.... I was merely looking for a different Flavor for the Cerebremancer combo... Cerebremancer with a twist, if you will.

Yes. A twist of lemon/lime.

Feed the rush. :D

Obviously my psionic palate is tame in comparison.

Gin and juice, please. :D

Sucking on ...
gin and juice
Laid back.

Wiz 1 with Precocious Apprentice
Ardent 2 with Psiotheurgist (any) from Dragon #349
Cerebremancer 2
Mind Mage 10
Cerebremancer 5

I think CL + ML = about 50.
No 9th level spells fixed by tricky wording of "Substitute Powers" in Ardent section of ExCl 4.

Room for a recharge set-up.
