| Taureus_Drakken02-23-07, 03:37 PM | If I am reading correctly, does any Psionic character have the ability of creating a Psicrystal? The case and point being my Divine Mind...would he be allowed to make one, or does he need a feat to do so? In the description of Psicrystals, it doesn't specify whether a feat is needed to get one; and it doesn't give an entry on any of the tables that outline class features for the Psionic classes. |
| Bacris02-23-07, 03:43 PM | It's a feat - see Psicrystal Affinity. And it is explained in the psicrystal entry :) "PSICRYSTALS A psicrystal is a fragment of a psionic character’s personality, brought into physical form and a semblance of life (via the Psicrystal Affinity feat)." |
| Thomar_of_Uointer02-23-07, 03:58 PM | When you take the feat, you get a psicrystal. I don't know of any classes that just give you the Solicit Psicrystal feat. Also, A psicrystal is a fragment of a psionic character’s personality, brought into physical form and a semblance of life (via the Psicrystal Affinity feat). A psicrystal appears as a crystalline construct about the size of a human hand. You have to take the feat to get it. It's just in the Psion description because familiars are too. |

| AntiDjinn02-23-07, 06:41 PM | All characters, psion included, need a feat to gain a psicrystal. It is just then a matter of qualifiying for the feat (psionic subtype to qualify for psionic feats and manifester level 1) and having a feat slot available (or getting it as a bonus feat as the erudite does). |
| WinterPsionic02-23-07, 07:00 PM | When you take the feat, you get a psicrystal. I don't know of any classes that just give you the Solicit Psicrystal feat. 1. Solicit Psicrystal is a power not a feat 2. The RAW Erudite class starts with Psicrystal Affinity feat(I'm assuming this is what you meant in place of Solicit) :D |
| AntiDjinn02-23-07, 07:34 PM | The fact that it is a feat for everyone, including the erudite, matters because of certain mechanics associated with psionic feats. If your erudite also has Psionic Body, then he gets +2 hit points for having the feat Psicrystal Affinity which he would not if a psicrystal were a class feature absent the feat. Also, the power Feat Leech can steal any psionic feat so an erudite can still temporarily loose the benefit of this feat. |
