Converting magic items to psionic items [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-14-07, 06:53 PM I am wanting to run a campaign with just psionics, no magic. But, I want to use the magic items listed in the DMG, and I have seen converting them mentioned on the boards, but not sure how. Any tips would be mucho appreciated...

06-14-07, 07:45 PM Most of them should be easy, really. Just replace the spell(s) needed with equivalent power(s).

Boots of Speed requires Physical Acceleration (Psionic equivalent of Haste, found in Untapped Potential).

Boots of Striding and Springing requires Burst instead of Longstrider.

Circlet of Persuasion requires Animal Affinity.

Cloak of Arachnida requires Wallwalker and... Entangling Ectoplasm(?).

So on, and so forth. >>a

Yup - completely agree. Unless you're actually worried about the requirements to craft them, usually only needed for custom-made items, just use the stock items as-is. Only those magic items that actually cast spells, such as wands, scrolls, potions, and staves, cause a problem - just convert those to dorjes, power stones, psionic tattoos, and psicrowns.

Power Points: 1

+2 resistance bonus on saves
Augment: 2 additional pp per additional +1 resistance bonus on saves.

Ah, true. I was looking at the Eagle's Splendor prerequisite and automatically thought Animal Affinity.
