Counterspells...err powers [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-28-07, 12:49 PM I'm sorry for asking this if its a dumb question, but I skimmed the FAQ and XPH and didnt see anything.

Can psionic powers be countered just like divine and arcane spells? How? Thanks for your help.

02-28-07, 12:56 PM You can not counterspell with psionic powers, and psionic powers can not be counterspelled.

Counterspelling requires you to use the same spell as your enemy. Since psionicists can't cast any spells, they can't meet this requirement. Also, Dispel Psionics does not have a counterspelling option like Dispel Magic does.

According to some interpertations, you might be able to counter a psionic power using Dispel Magic.

There simply isn't anything on counterspelling in the XPH.
