| Phaseroth09-04-07, 10:30 PM | The power urge extermination kills a creature with up to 90 hit points, without a save. The augment text is confused, though: For every additional power point you spend, you can affect a creature with 10 more hit points. For example, if you spend 20 additional power points when manifesting urge extermination, you can affect one living creature with 110 or fewer hit points. The first and second sentence disagree with each other. The first sentence gets you another 10 hit points for an expenditure of 1 power point. The second sentence indicates a 10 for 10 expenditure. Which is it? In other words, should the first sentence be changed to read: "For every 10 additional power points you spend, you can affect a creature with 10 more hit points." or should the second sentence be changed to read: "For example, if you spend 2 additional power points when manifesting urge extermination, you can affect one living creature with 110 or fewer hit points." |
| AntiDjinn09-04-07, 11:31 PM | Your guess is as good as anyone's. A cost of 1 power point per 10 additional hit points would give it the same augmentation as Microcosm (basically, the same power. The psionic version of Power Word: Kill. In either case it puts one or more relatively weak opponents on the floor). |
| calronmoonflower09-04-07, 11:36 PM | The first and second sentence disagree with each other. The first sentence gets you another 10 hit points for an expenditure of 1 power point. The second sentence indicates a 10 for 10 expenditure. This is why they have the primary Vs. secondary errata rule. The augmenting rules in the first sentence is the primary source, so use that. The second sentence doesn't really matter. |

I believe the 0 after the first 2 in the second sentance is not supposed to be there. i.e. "if you spend 2 additional power points when manifesting urge extermination, you can affect one living creature with 110 hit points or less." |
| Phaseroth09-04-07, 11:40 PM | Sounds good to me. Thanks! |
| Bauglir09-04-07, 11:43 PM | Plus, how useful would an augment costing 10 PP be, anyway? You need to be epic to use such an augment at all, much less more than once. But yeah, I echo what everyone else said. Even if it is a bit late. |
| Tsuul09-05-07, 02:20 AM | "Ah HA, I have ninety-THREE hit points!" It should prob be 1pp for 10hp. |
| Phaseroth09-05-07, 12:47 PM | Plus, how useful would an augment costing 10 PP be, anyway? You need to be epic to use such an augment at all And it seems I forgot the bit about not being able to spend more PP than your manifester level ... D'oh! |
| AntiDjinn09-05-07, 01:07 PM | The first sentence is the rule. The second is an example. Normally, an example explicitly demonstrates the rule in action, but WotC has not been doing well with example text of late. |
| forsaken111109-05-07, 01:24 PM | Well there's also the fact that you CAN'T put 20 extra power points in it unless you're epic... or have a crazy combo that raises your ML very high. |
