| Schatten907-28-07, 10:15 PM | I'm looking at Dimension Swap for my psychic warrior (2nd lev. power, EPH p. 93) I'm confused on the wording a little, so I'm wondering what this is trying to say: First, it says, "you can swap the positions of any two allies in range" and then, under "Special:" it says, "A Psychic warrior can manifest this power to swap positions with an ally, but not to swap the positions of two allies." This seems rather contradictory. Can I, or can I not swap the positions of two allies? Seems misworded to me. -schatten |
| Zarreth_Nessad07-28-07, 10:20 PM | A Psychic Warrior can only use it to swap himself with an ally, not two allies. The special rules override the base text. For comparison, also look at Levitate, Psionic (Special rules if you are an Nomad [can manifest it on other willing targets], vs taking it as a normal Psion/Wilder power [only on yourself]). |
| Schatten907-28-07, 10:26 PM | So this means the warrior can swap with an ally, but he cannot use it to swap the positions of 2 allies with each-other? I see what you mean, though, about it being only for a nomad and not a psychic warrior, thanks, I missed that distinction. |

| Zarreth_Nessad07-29-07, 01:37 AM | Could you use Expanded Knowledge as a Psychic Warrior to claim Dimension Swap as another class would use it? There was a discussion about this a while back. If I can find it I'll post a link, but I don't remember the resolution. Personally, I don't have any problem with someone using a feat (huge opportunity cost) to get something that otherwise you could have gotten a lesser version of without using a feat. IMO not worth blowing a feat on .. there are better powers to use that on than just an improvement on something you could do anyways, albeit to a lesser degree. |

| Jaid07-30-07, 10:01 PM | ruleswise, i believe the only way to get the nomad augment to levitate is to be a nomad. it's not a different power, it's just that being a nomad lets you do something with it that others can't. likewise with the dimension swap thing... it's not that the psychic warrior is learning a different power, it's just that he's a psychic warrior. that being said, i would certainly not consider it unbalanced to allow expanded knowledge to learn a power as if you were another class (or as another devotion of psion) |
