due to details

So your Ardent 10 has Dominant Ideal on the Freedom Mantle, which includes Hustle.
Key DI to Hustle linked Hustle, and that's just 4pp.
What to do with the 6pp you have left?
Twin Power.

One swift action and focus expended and gain 2 move actions this round and 2 next round.
Do it again the next round and the overlap trades 1 swift for 4 moves, and 10pp per round.
And use each of those moves to refocus.
This allows up to 4, or even 5 in a pinch, focuses to be expended and refocused in a round.

Where are all those foci coming from?
One from you.
One from your psicrystal.
One from Psychic Weapons Master. (eventually)
One from Schism. (yeah, controversial)
One from your psicrystal's psicrystal. (heh, psly4mne is soo controversial)

Fun. Possibly useful.

Could some of those move actions be used to generate some of the shadow pouncing stuff?
Ideas?

You don't have to expend focus to apply metapsi feats to powers from your dominant ideal.

Dominant Ideal (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070629a)

An ardent develops her power by embracing philosophical concepts, with her two primary mantles serving as the core of her beliefs, and the secondary mantles providing peripheral views of the world. For some, one specific ideal outshines even its primary companion, and secondary considerations are little more than a distracting shadow of doubt. If you want to make a single mantle the focus of your ardent, selecting the dominant ideal alternative class feature allows you to use its powers more effectively. In exchange for this stronger focus, you must give up access to a new psionic mantle, reducing your overall power selection.

Replaces: If you select this class feature, you do not assume an additional secondary psionic mantle at 10th level.

Benefit: At 10th level, you choose one of your primary mantles to become the dominant ideal in your philosophy, deepening your connection to this fundamental principle. You do not need to expend your psionic focus when applying metapsionic feats to powers you manifest from your chosen primary mantle, and the power point cost of augmenting or applying metapsionic feats to these idealized powers is reduced by 2 (to a minimum of 0). The reduction in cost applies only to the additional power points spent on augmentation or metapsionic feats; the power's normal power point cost is not reduced.

If you later decide to make the primary mantle for which you have selected this alternative class feature into a secondary mantle, you must also swap this feature, allocating it to one of your primary mantles.

True.

"Twin Power" gets one of the foci, and that gets the 2nd move action gained each of two rounds.
Twin Hustle link Hustle on the second round, gets #'s 3 and 4 happening.

What else would you use 4 or 5 move actions on, besides regaining focuses?

Moving really far?

I think there's a thread buried in the depths of the CharOp boards with a list of all the different things you can use a move action for.

I don't think this would work for multipouncing-- and not just because of the prohibitive PP cost of move-action Dimension Doors. After the first Dimension Door, you can't take any more actions until the beginning of your next turn. Presumably, that includes actions granted by powers that you manifested earlier in the round.

You forget dimension slide can also be used as a move action if you augment it.

Z Snap.

Our Ardent could take Expanded Knowledge feat @ 9th level, and not just get Dimension Slide,
but also afford the augment to 9pp.

One move action to refocus for Twin, and the rolling 4 move actions for 4 Dimension Slides.
All for the discount price of 46pp per round.
{ ... re-charge :rolleyes: ... }

Now, what to do after each DS ?

After the DS, Nintendo is expected to release another handheld system with slightly improved graphical and computational capabilities.

After each dimension slide, you could get a free full attack if you have that one prestige class. Crinti Shadow Marauder? Tieflimar Shadow Lord? It's Something Shadow Something, and it gives you a free full attack any time you move instantaneously.

Or, you could just take the Sun School tactical feat from Complete Warrior. Among other things, it gives you a free melee attack any time you move instantaneously. Anybody can qualify for Sun School easily with a single level of Monk and at least +4 BAB.

However, taking Expanded Knowledge (Dimension Slide) does not put the power on your mantle list.

You would be better off twinning dimension hop. 1 power point and a swift action for two free attacks at your highest BAB.

Telflammar Shadowlord would also work, but you would need to spend feats to chain up to Martial Stance: Assassin's Stance in order to meet the 2d6 sneak attack requirement. If you don't want to bleed power points like nobody's business and you were in Eberron you could take Blade of Orien for 10 levels after this and get a limited shadow pounce with the move action Mark of Passage teleporting. Noting of course that you could potentially get more if you can convince you DM to let you have Dimension Leap as a power with a move action augment (or you could burn action points on additional uses after the first 7 of a day).

Dammit, now I'm motivated.....

Optimize!!

Goal:
Create a deadly Eberron Multipouncer

Phase 1 - Minimize the Trick Requirements
We can't reduce the blade or orien levels at all, thats going to take 10 levels straight up. Sadly this means it won't even come close to the 10th level at which you can start multipouncing in the forgotten realms making this a purely high level trick. We can still make for an interesting combatant before that however, if we play our cards right.

The practical multipounce is as follows:
Hustle -> Dimension Leap (using swift leap) teleporting up to 5 feet per character level and making a full attack
Full Attack with remaining actions

The heavy multipounce using the skeleton of this trick is
Round 1:
Buff Power Linked Hustle Twinned
Refocus

Round 2:
Buff Power (standard)
Twin Hustle (swift)
Dimension Leap x5 (5 moves)
Full Attack x5 (dervish like in that you can swap targets when you finish them off and cover a fair bit of ground between)

so to accomplish that we need the following:
Link Power
Twin Power
Least Dragonmark (Mark of Passage - Dimension Leap)
Lesser Dragonmark (Mark of Passage - Dimension Door)
Psicrystal Affinity
Psicrystal Containment
Metapower (Hustle/Twin Power) - to help keep our PP costs in check and allow a more powerful initial buff
Practiced Manifester - more powerful initial buff, fewer entry levels to get Orien's Wrath at lower levels

A feat list that long demands psychic warrior (and since we're going to be full attacking anyway...)

so here is the build:

lvl class BAB Abilities
1 PsyWar +0 Psicrystal Affinity (PsyWar Bonus), Least Dragonmark (Mark of Passage - Dimension Leap) Practiced Manifester (Human Bonus)
2 PsyWar +1 Psycrystal Containment (PsyWar Bonus)
3 PsyWar +2 Psionic Meditation
4 PsyWar +3
5 PsyWar +3 Link Power (PsyWar Bonus)
6 PsyWar +4 Lesser Dragonmark (Mark of Passage - Dimension Door)
7 BoOrien +5 Hier's Mark, Improved Dimension Leap
8 BoOrien +6 Swift Leap
9 BoOrien +7 Korran's Strength, Twin Power
10 BoOrien +8 Orien's Grasp
11 BoOrien +9 Olladra's Twist
12 BoOrien +10 Dimensional Push, Open Feat
13 BoOrien +11 Orien's Wrath
14 BoOrien +12 Shadow Shift
15 BoOrien +13 Orien's Cloak, Metapower (Hustle - Twin Power)
16 BoOrien +14 Orien's Fury
17 PsyWar +15
18 PsyWar +16 Open Feat, Open Feat (PsyWar Bonus)
19 PsyWar +16
20 PsyWar +17

Variants
Mechanically, you gain a lot for this build by being Kalashtar, but it takes flaws and a rather outlandish backstory to accomplish, the benefits however, are immense:

Take 2 flaws at first level, 1 to replace the human bonus feat, the other to gain Human Heritage to qualify for Dragonmarks (requires one kalashtar and one Orien parent, which given the abberant mark screening processes is highly unlikely, and means the character is not going to have many friends among his house, its not completely unthinkable though)

The benefit is that you can swap one PsyWar level for a Monk level, take Monastic Training (PsyWar) instead of Stunning Fist, and with open feats in the build take Talashantora (or however you spell it) for Psychic Warrior and Sun School to get 10th level monk unarmed strikes and flurry of blows, as well as an extra attack every time you teleport, which can make good combat use of your excess mobility before hitting Orien's Fury at 16th. As it stands you could take a Monk level as another race but you gain less from the splash and it would be almost exclusively for Sun School.

@ Inkblot : The Dominant Ideal discount applied to Link and the mantle that has Hustle, allows the 3pp+3pp linked hustles to cost 3pp+3pp-2pp=4pp. And it doesn't need an expended focus to do that, so you expend your focus on Twin. That's 10pp for "hustle link hustle twin" and one focus expended. When you do it again on the next round, and then again on the next, the whole thing adds up to One Swift action for 4 Move actions every round. Obviously, Psionic Mediatation feat to refocus with a move action is mandatory.
I was just speculating (as usual).

@ DH_ : Awesome, I'll have to digest it. Ardent 10 fits your advancement. The new Mantle's powers picking thing "might" free up some of the powers you want - supposing your DM goes for it, heh. Then they would also be discounted with the -2pp Link power set up. I'm thinking the 5 move actions would only be available via Hustle Link Hustle set-up AND dumping the last refocus into some other move action. OTOH, having a combat nova 1 round vs. a lesser combat nova for any round, is an interesting comparo. Rock.

[edit] Super Shadow Pouncer is hella less rancid than what I proposed.

Why do you have to expend your focus on the Twin? Is that not also a metapsionic feat applied to a power from your dominant mantle?

step A:
The Dominant Ideal discount applied to Link and the mantle that has Hustle.

step B:
so you expend your focus on Twin.

Now that I think about it, maybe Twin would be the better metapsionic to apply the Dominant Ideal discount. That would be:

Step A: The Dominant Ideal discount applied to Twin and the mantle that has Hustle.
Step B: so you expend your focus on Link.

result: Same result of 4 move actions for 1 swift action and 10pp, but can now 4pp Twin with no Expending of Focus on any other power on the mantle in question.

Sweet.

From the text of Dominant Ideal:
"You do not need to expend your psionic focus when applying metapsionic feats to powers you manifest from your chosen primary mantle, and the power point cost of augmenting or applying metapsionic feats to these idealized powers is reduced by 2 (to a minimum of 0)."

Since "metapsionic feats" is pluralized, it ought to apply to every metapsionic feat available to you. The pluralization also implies that you could apply multiple metapsionic feats to a specific manifestation of a power-- as many as you like, since none of them require the expenditure of your psionic focus. Now that I think about it, the PP discount is probably applies once per manifestation (since that one's also plural, it reduces the total cost of all metapsionic feats you wish to apply rather than reducing each one individually). But still, if the point of the trick is to accumulate actions, PP expenditure isn't as relevant as focus expenditure.

OK. Renamed thread.

"Med" - itate a little and things become clearer.

Hustle Link Hustle Twin (and add in some more metapsionics),
would not require the expending of ANY psionic focus.
Yep, and the -2pp discount applies at the end.

So this costs 10pp and no expend focus.

Round 1:
swift action - Hustle Link Hustle Twin
move action - any
standard action - any
hustle move action - any
twin hustle move action - any

Round 2:
swift action - Hustle Link Hustle Twin
move action - any
standard action - any
R1 link hustle move action - any
R1 twin link hustle move action - any
R2 hustle move action - any
R2 twin hustle move action - any

Round 3+:
repeat Round 2 with rolling extra move actions

Round X (terminal):
swift action - any else
move action - any
standard action - any
R(X-1) link hustle move action - any
R(X-1) twin link hustle move action - any

Knowledge(psionics) check DC of 2:
"Do I have any power points left?"
