| pukunui08-15-07, 05:46 PM | Hi all, Just wondering if a psion wielding a dorje of body adjustment would be able to use it to heal his comrades or is it still self-only? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Jonathan |
| CrimsonDeath08-15-07, 05:59 PM | Self-only. If his allies have ranks in Use Psionic Device (or the DM allows them to use Use Magic Device to activate psionic items), they'll be able to use the dorje to heal themselves. |
| pukunui08-15-07, 06:16 PM | Cool. Thanks for the quick response. |
| AntiDjinn08-15-07, 08:58 PM | When a power in a dorje has a range of Personal, the target is always the one holding the stick. So when you want to heal another party member you don't point it at them or poke them with it, you hand them the stick and let them activate it. Or fail to activate it and still burn a charge. |
| pukunui08-16-07, 04:03 AM | Except you can't activate it unless you have the power on your class list in the first place ... |
| CrimsonDeath08-16-07, 04:51 AM | Except you can't activate it unless you have the power on your class list in the first place ... Except with a Use Psionic Device check. |
| pukunui08-16-07, 04:57 AM | Except with a Use Psionic Device check. Well, right, but not everyone in the party's going to have that. |
| SlanderPanic08-16-07, 09:43 AM | Sucks for them. On the upside, anyone can use psionic tattoos, just like how anyone can use a potion. |
| AntiDjinn08-16-07, 11:43 AM | Well, right, but not everyone in the party's going to have that. And that is not your problem. If other characters want to make use of your personal power item and they don't normally qualify, then they need to take ranks in the appropriate Use Device skill. Their issue, not yours. If you need to act as party healer with this one device (a bad plan in the long run) then take Empathic Transfer. Then you can absorb wounds from party members and heal yourself with the dorje. |
| pukunui08-16-07, 03:59 PM | OK. This is going beyond the scope of my question. All I wanted to know was whether or not you could use a dorje of body adjustment on someone else. That has been answered and I have let my player know (I'm the DM). Thanks everybody! I'm out. |
