Dorjes and targeting "personal" powers? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-17-07, 06:20 AM So I want to manifest a power from a dorjes on another character with a range of "personal", such as the power expansion. Under the entry for Dorjes I have to point it at the target, but is there some range I need to be at? Do I need to touch the other character with the Dorjes so that the power will work?

03-17-07, 10:33 AM A power with a range of "personal" can only affect the person manifesting it. Putting the power into a dorje doesn't change this fact.

03-17-07, 01:04 PM If you want to affect another person with a personal power in a dorje, then hand him the stick. Hopefully, he has ranks in Use Psionic Device. You are always the target of a power with a range of personal. In the case of an item "you" refers to the person activating the item. It does mean that having the dorje allows others to be affected, but it take their action, not yours, and they need to be able to activate the device.
