| RavinRay04-01-08, 12:47 AM | By Sardior, there's going to be a Draconomicon III: Gem Dragons! :dancin: Draconomicon III: Gem Dragons D&D Rules Supplement Scott Brocius and Mark A. Jindra Draconomicon III: Gem Dragons describes several varieties of dragons, including topaz, amethyst, emerald, sapphire, and crystal dragons, as well as three new gem dragons. This sourcebook gives details of each dragon’s powers, tactics, myths, lairs, servitors, and more. In addition, this book provides new information about draconic nations and organizations and how gem dragons fit into the D&D game. Wide-ranging story and campaign elements in the book give DMs ready-to-play material that is easily incorporated into a game, including adventure hooks, quests, and pregenerated treasure hoards. SCOTT BROCIUS is an active RPGA member and has helped organize and run RPGA events for several conventions, including Origins. He is the co-author of the Mind's Eye feature on the Wizards of the Coast website. MARK A. JINDRA is the developer of the Wizards of the Coast website and the co-author of the Mind's Eye column on the Wizards of the Coast website. http://www.geocities.com/originalravinray/dnd/products_dndacc_draconomicon3.png That looks like an amethyst dragon ready to spit out its explosive gem. Finally, gem dragons will never more play second fiddle to chromatic and metallic dragons. Legend of Sardior 4E, here we come! :cheer:  :w00t: :cloud9: :dragon: |
| Deekin04-01-08, 02:14 AM | Dude, 1 hour too early. Awesome art, though. |
| Ecalsneerg04-01-08, 07:26 AM | For a pink dragon, it's really quite intimidating :D |
| M-bark04-01-08, 08:27 AM | Draconomicon III? There are going to be THREE Draconomicons in 4E? |
| Bacris04-01-08, 08:54 AM | Chromatic and metallic each get their own, if memory serves. |
| Otakkun04-01-08, 01:55 PM | :D What else can I say? |
| CrimsonDeath04-01-08, 02:49 PM | For a pink dragon, it's really quite intimidating :D Amythests are purple. |
| Ecalsneerg04-01-08, 06:12 PM | Amythests are purple. I know, but that one is definitely verging on pink. |
| ZiggZagg04-01-08, 06:40 PM | Where are you guys seeing the art at? |
| Bacris04-01-08, 06:44 PM | The first post has the cover of the book in it. |
| ZiggZagg04-01-08, 06:52 PM | Hmmm...I don't see it...oh well...never was a big fan of Gem Dragons at any rate |
| kalstrand04-01-08, 07:20 PM | You sure this isn't part of their April Fools Day stuff? |
| Bacris04-01-08, 07:23 PM | Well, it WAS posted on 3/31, not 4/1 |
| celestialkin04-01-08, 07:45 PM | Wait, wut?! Sardior will finally be official in 4.0? Dude, 4.0 sucks, but it has Sardior as an official deity after about 20+ years of being unofficial. Can this be 4.0's one good point? :thinks: Then again, they will probably nerf and/or ruin him. |
| Mercurius04-03-08, 11:13 AM | Since there seems to be a bit of an implication that dragons in 4e won't really be spellcasters (or, at least, not all of them will be), I wouldn't be surprised if the Gem Dragons had no psionic-specific abilities at all. They might just be another color/type of dragon, with no real ties to the prior divisions. Though if they did have psionics, it'd have to wait until the PHBII and its psionic rules were published. |

| InkBlot04-03-08, 05:07 PM | This is an April Fool's joke right? The cover is a re-color of Draconomicon I: Chromatic Dragons. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dndacc/217887200) http://www.wizards.com/global/images/products_dndacc_217887200_lgpic.jpg |

It's too bad this is a kids safe board, since I would like to say a few things towards the OP. |
| Ecalsneerg04-04-08, 06:36 AM | Oh lawdy, did I just get pwned? And oddly it gets less intimidating when it's not pink. |
| CrimsonDeath04-04-08, 02:17 PM | What is it supposed to be, White? |
| Mercurius04-04-08, 05:39 PM | Looks like a redesigned White, yeah... Of course, the idea of multiple Draconomicons in 4e just sticks in my craw... |

I PMed Mark Jindra on March 14 asking permission to spoof Draconomicon I for April Fools, then PMed him on March 31 giving him a preview. In all seriousness though, I do want to see an actual, official Draconomicon III: Gem Dragons come out, after the almost inevitable Draconomicon II: Metallic Dragons is released. Of all the web articles on D&D, it's the Legend of Sardior series that I enjoyed best, and gave overdue attention to a long neglected and underutilized family of dragons. |

I agree with the last part, but I am still ****** that you got my hopes up so high about Sardior, especially since I have been worried about his complete demise in 4.0. |
