Ectopic Form [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-08-08, 02:03 PM Probably a really easy question, but which Ectopic Form is the best? I've looked at all of the forms but I'm undecided on which to take because I've never seen a Shaper played higher than level 3 and I have no idea how good the astral construct can really be.

02-08-08, 03:36 PM As I'm told, none of them are really worth taking, and Anathemic Carapace is the only one you can't duplicate (or better) with menu choices for a normal Astral Construct. And depending on how you read the feat, you lose the benefit of Boost Construct when you use an Ectopic Form.

That one's actually straight from Bruce; Ectopic Forms appear 'as is', with no selectable menu choices, including Boost Construct.

I agree that none are worth it, though. Boost Construct is uniformly a better choice.
