Elan + Metamind [Archive] - Wizards Community

But, if an Elan took metamind to level 10, could he use his one minute a day to be completely immune to damage (from one source per turn)?

"Come on in, the lava's fine!"

Totally not worth it, but could make a fun NPC.

12-12-07, 11:57 PM No one would say anything as he climbs into the lava, only because it is a fitting end for someone who took levels of metamind.

Mechanically, Font of Power works like this: "While so empowered, he can manifest any of his powers without drawing from his power point reserve." Note: Powers. No mention made of racial abilities or other uses for power points. And it actually does not make the reserve infinite, it simply gives you an alternate source to draw upon so you don't need to use your reserves.

At best, it would allow the character to use his own points (and swift action each round) to stave off the damage, while he uses Font to fuel his powers.

12-13-07, 02:59 AM For the record, if you manifest Energy Adaptation, Adapt Body, and True Metabolism, you can probably swim in lava for a few minutes.

Lava does 20d6 damage per round (about 70 damage, average). Adapt Body cuts this in half (35 or 40 damage, average, depending on whether you roll 10d6 or 20d3). Energy Adaptation reduces this by 30, and True Metabolism gives you Fast Healing 10.

I totally wanted to do this with my Nomad. (I quit the campaign at level 14... Creative differences with the DM.)

Well, given that it is more dense than water, you would float no problem, but yeah, movement would be difficult.
