| Karui_Kage05-27-07, 06:42 PM | Quick question on the resistance one, that probably is answered elsewhere, but I cannot find it unfortunately. When declaring whether they want to use it or not, can it be declared after a save is rolled (Oh crap, I got a 2, I want to use my ability) or must it be declared before a save is rolled? I'm leaning towards before, but was wondering if there was any official say on this. Thanks! |

| Karui_Kage05-27-07, 07:05 PM | Can you tell me where that information is from, bookwise, please? |
| Morwen05-27-07, 08:16 PM | Can you tell me where that information is from, bookwise, please? I don't believe it's specifically stated anywhere. However, logic applies. The bonus lasts from the time you use the ability, and if you've already made the roll, the bonus won't apply (as you didn't have a bonus when you rolled). |
| Karui_Kage05-27-07, 08:21 PM | Good point. Alright, thanks for the help. :) |
| Suldarr'essalar05-28-07, 03:26 AM | Since it's an immediate action I think you may add the bonus after the roll, but before you know the result (saved or not). |
| calronmoonflower05-28-07, 03:52 AM | Since it's an immediate action I think you may add the bonus after the roll, but before you know the result (saved or not). Generally thats the way thse things work. Just look at action points. |
| Fullhazard05-28-07, 04:35 PM | You're wrong. Normal bonuses need to be in place before the roll. By your logic, a barbarian could attack, then after the attack roll declare he is entering his rage to get the bonus to hit. Action points are a special case which specifically states you can do it after the roll has been made. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/actionPoints.htm#addtoaRoll |
