| Kanachi05-25-07, 09:58 PM | Hiya everyone! Just a quick question to make sure what I’m thinking is ok… My character has levels in both scout and elocator (enough to have capricious step). Am I right in thinking that the ability to take two five foot steps allows me to make a full attack and gain my skirmish bonus to damage on all the attacks? Also would it be possible to use the dimensional hop power to move a distance of 10 feet or more and still make both a full attack and once again gain my skirmish bonus to damage on all the attacks? And finally… can I combine dimension hop, my two five foot steps, a full attack action and my skirmish ability all into one round? I’ve got a cool image in my head of a constantly teleporting warrior who continually strikes differing targets with his ferocious attacks, shifting from position to position and hard to pin down. Thanks for any help you guys can offer in advance! |

If you were talking about Dimension Step - thats a standard action, so you have to find some way to attack after it. As far as I know that would count as movement (so you would skirmish with the DD Spring Attack you get at 9th level). That I'm not as sure about however (also it would open up anklet of translocation from the MIC leading to skirmish, or the Conjuror alt class ability). Also - if DD counts as movement then you shouldn't be able to use your five-foot steps in the same round. |

If your two 5' steps actually move you ten feet from where you started, you can apply Skirmish damage to all your attacks during that full attack action. I recall a ruling, either from CustServ or in the errata, stating that teleportation does not trigger Skirmish, and that your movement has to take you at least ten feet from where you started in order trigger Skirmish. I also think there was a ruling that Skirmish doesn't apply on attacks of opportunity that you make, but I'm not sure about that one either. Does that help, or are you even more confused now? |

Ah, ok, I don't have that book and I didn't see it in the XPH. Then its basically up to your DM I guess. But if the teleportation is considered movement, then you shouldn't be able to take 5 foot steps, since you can't use them in the same turn as other movement. If the teleportation isn't movement for the purposes of skirmish, then it shouldn't be for 5 foot steps either. Or at least thats how I see it. |
| Cala, Legend Reborn05-26-07, 07:31 AM | Teleporting isn't your physical action of moving across to another place; it's you warping space and ending up in a different place to where you were before. 'Porting doesn't trigger skirmish, but two 5' steps will. About skirmish not working for AoO's, that's because the ability itself says that the damage bonus is only for attacks you make in your round. The AC bonus lasts until your next turn, but the damage bonus specifically does not. |
