flamepheonix182 09-23-07, 12:10 AM	I just recently made my first 3.5 psionic character and I took energy wall but after reading the description i noticed it doesn't state ho high the energy wall is. ( I already checked the errata and I couldnt find anything) I only ask cause the DM keeps making enemies jump the wall. P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong place
InkBlot 09-23-07, 01:28 AM	This is the right place, don't worry. Unfortunately, the height of an energy wall is one of the great mysteries of psionics. Much like "if my psicrystal dies how do I get a new one?" There is no official answer. I houserule that it's up to 20 feet tall, just like a wall of fire.

Automatic failure because there is no way to define the DC of the jump check? Does it get stuck in some Schrodinger's Pet Rock paradox? What if it dies in the attempt? Someone should shoot this off to cust. serve. Since it contains two questions that they steadfastly refuse to answer it might make someone slip up and reveal the secret.
Lokiyn 09-23-07, 02:58 AM	Its things like this that make the game incredibly frustrating with the customer service provided, or rather not provided, by the company. Its also the reason that there was a semi serious talk here in rl about writing 5th edition dnd rules, made like the other editions by refining and adjusting the old editions rather than throwing out 30 years of game flavor and experiece out the window and making something up whole cloth and publishing it, we figured we could get the job done by february and still release before the 4th edition phb. However its safe to say that the energy wall is no less than 10 feet high and no more than 20 feet high, 5-10 feet because thats a single "square" and 20 feet because thats the maximum range of the powers effects. Just point out to your dm that at minimum, all the other walls are at least 10 feet tall, (stone/ice/sand/water/light/gloom/etc) so it should be at least that tall, and reference wall of fire as its closest counterpart in the rules as inkblot suggested and declare it 20 feet, after all, its hardly a wall if you can simply jump over it without any effort now is it.

They'd probably perceive it as the mail-bomb it was and disregard them, perhaps growing even more adamant(ine?) in their refusal to answer the question.

That makes a lot of sense, since it's clearly the spell the power was patterned on. It also makes sense because D&D tends to like to work in squares, so 20x20 is more likely than 10x20 unless they state otherwise.
