In the description of this power i says that one side of the wall sends forth the chosen energy type and deals 2d6+ML to all who passes through, 2d6 to all within 10 ft and 1d6 to all between 10 and 20 ft.

Does this mean that if a character that is 30 ft away and want to pass through the wall takes 5d6+ML in damage? (2d6+ML + 2d6 + 1d6)

If you create the wall over a creature (big sized), that creature takes damage as if he passes through the wall.

01-02-08, 01:08 PM My understanding is that "per round" damage (e.g. the 1d6 or 2d6 for being within 10 or 20 feet of an energy wall) is taken on the manifester's initiative count. So a character acting on a different initiative count could run through the wall and only suffer 2d6+ML damage as long as he started 30' away.

To sum up for the OP, walking through an energy wall from 30 feet away would deal 4d6+ML damage at most (depending on timing).

01-06-08, 03:38 PM I've discussed with my DM and he understood the as 5d6+ML, because when you enter a area with a "new" treat of damage, you get the "new" damage. But still I'm not sure.

hogarth's explanation sound the most realistic to me...

(I personally use the wall of fire spell as a reference to answer that question.)

What's worse is a) whether charging or getting thrown down the length of the Energy Wall deals damage for every square (possibly leading to some ridiculous damage as a readied action or in combo with Telekinesis), and b) how you even place the wall on a battle grid.
