| Mindolin03-19-08, 03:44 PM | Okay, I am thinking of retiring my Barbarian because he's too powerful, and was thinking of replacing him with a Psychic Warrior. I am planning on taking the varient class feature that allows him to take a mantle, and was wondering if there was any feat that allows me to get an extra mantle. I think I remember seeing something in Complete Psionic, but am away from my books right now. |

If you added the "list" feat, you'd have just about all of your PsyWar powers, covered via the mantles. Hence, you could pick almost all non- PsyWar powers in those slots. Especially, if your DM sees Substitute Powers in the Ardent section of Mind's Eye. Careful though, you don't want to try to be a primary caster / powerpoint burner. Metamorph + Metamorphic Transfer + more synergistic feats than a Psion = BAM !!! I'd say, find a good build in the PsyWar guide. Rip out one feat for the Class feature. Ditch any Expanded Knowledge feats (because of), add back in the ditched feat (because of). Pick some better powers here and there. Have fun. |

| CrimsonDeath03-19-08, 10:29 PM | If a Divine Mind took Tap Mantle and Don Mantle, would they get a new aura as well? It doesn't look like it. Although, goodness knows it wouldn't be overpowred to allow it. |
| Metafictional03-19-08, 11:58 PM | Yeah, agreed on that. The Mantles are even more hit-or-miss than Domains; some Mantles grant decent powers, some have cool granted powers, and some have really sweet Auras for Divine Minds...but rarely all three at once. While any player could find a combination of Mantles that give their character worthwhile abilities, it's hard to choose Mantles based on a character concept alone, since you could end up with some so so abilities. So no, it probably wouldn't break anything. Thanks for the reply. |
