Chronon Power [Psionic]
You see the outcome of your manifestations before they manifest.
Prerequisite: Wis 15, Ability to manifest the Precognition power.
Benefit: To use this feat you must expend your psionic focus (see the Concentration skill description, page 37 of the Expanded Psionics Handbook). In your heightened state of mind during manifestation, you see into the future and learn the direct result of your manifestion as follows.
You learn if your power successfully or unsuccessfully affects its target, what the precise numerical values will be involved, such as how much damage or drain would be dealt or healed, or how much penalties or bonuses you would deal or receive, and if it will kill or render unconscious your target(s).
You do not learn the resistances or defenses of your enemy, nor how he will react to the power.
This feat is used during the exact moment of manifestation. You may decide to use the power or decide to cancel it before it is fully manifested. If you do not fully manifest you do not spend any power points. Regardless of what you see, you use up the action you would have in manifesting the power.
You must decide whether or not to use this feat prior to manifesting. If you decide to cancel the power, you still expend your psionic focus.

Wow. Seems broken. Pretty much it says "I'm going to cast this power using this feat. Tell me what's going to happen. If I don't like it, I don't spend any power points but I lose psionic focus, so I can just try again next round with something better." The fact that this feat has no restrictions on uses per day or any cost (other than psionic focus, which is rather easy to get) makes it too powerful. Perhaps a power point cost just to use the feat would be a little bit of a balancing factor?

Broken? You expend your psionic focus and waste a standard action or you manifest normally.

Sure, you get to save the points you would have otherwise wasted, but is it worth not even being able to do anything that round? Also, even if you have Psionic Meditation it still takes a full round to use this feat whether or not you use the power.

Fix it by specifically stating what information is gained. If all you know is how well you would have rolled, then it's fine with just a focus cost.

If it tells you what kind of resistances and defenses your opponent(s) have, then it needs a metapsi cost. There are ways to discover these things, and there all more expensive than expending your psionic focus. +2 power points at a minimum, but I think +4 is more appropriate.

If it tells you how your foe would react (if it would run away, counter attack, etc) then there's no metapsi cost that could balance the feat.

That is all it does. How well you rolled and if it successfully affected the target or not.

I can just see Jack Sparrow turned Psychic Warrior using this feat. He constantly keeps checking the future, waiting for "the opportune moment."

All parralels aside, this is a decently balanced feat. Basicly, it lets you trade actions in to get more milage out of your power points. Everyone knows that actions are more important than power points when it comes to raw power, although it may cause more time to be spent rolling dice than would otherwise be needed.

Heck use this feat with "save or dies". if you don't use this feat and he makes his save you just stand their looking stupid anyway, so why not save the power points.

I think I would make them pay at least a couple of power points for this to work not many just a couple because failing to affect a target is just one of the risk you take when manifesting a power, just like when casting a spell, crap happens, they could make there save, hit PR somthing. so personally I would make them pay about 2pp, or take out the you get to know all the roles, just have the DM roll them and say, it will affect the target in some way or it wont affect the target in some way then I would make that just a focus lost there.

Psionic focus is a big investment in itself. Its either once per encounter or else you lose at least 1 full round action or 1 move action (if you used another feat for psionic meditation) gettting refocused to pull this trick again, plus you lose the standard action if you choose not to manifest your power.

It basicly costs you 2 full turns to use this trick normaly, and 1 full turn with more feats invested. Combat Actions being so valuble that 9th level spells only give you an average of 3 turns worth, I'd say thats 2 turns of actions is a big enough price.

Mainly agreed. I would suggest making it metapsionic and adding 2pp. That would help the balancing a lot.

Well, like it or not it would be the single most useful feat for my squeamish players

Acid test = why would someone NOT take it...

if your players are worried that their spell/power wont work, then they should a. choose a different class, or b. get feats and such to bust though the PR/SR, and tank up there saves as much as possible, maybe even a little RP and knowledge skills to learn about creatures and what TENDS to work with them.
