Feat to Copy Powers? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-25-07, 08:05 PM Is this feat too strong or does it actually work? Sorry about the name, best I can come up with in 10 seconds.

Power Copy:
Prereqs: Manifester Level 1

This feat allows the user to copy the powers used against him. A character can ready a standard action to copy the power used against him, either using it to countermanifest or to simultaneously strike the enemy. Power points are deducted as for normal manifestation, and the resulting manifestation is done at the minimum level (unaugmented).

Is there anything that I might need to change for it or does it look about right? I'm trying to use it to create a form of the Sharingan from Naruto, and am looking for some help in doing so.

Your feat exceeds the power of Dispel Psionics (psion/wilder 3) in that it can cancel the effect of any incoming power, something you can't do normally in psionics. It exceeds Damp Power (psion/wilder 2) in that if you use this feat you could take no damage instead of minimum. It overlaps considerably with Redopsi (Kineticist 7) in that an incoming effect can be duplicated and sent back at your attacker (at minimal, and it does not defend you the way Redopsi does). And its only prereq is ML 1???? The ability as written exceeds the capability of 20th level manifesters. It also does not follow convention for existing psionic feats in that it costs power points, for the most part psionic feats require you to maintain or expend focus, while powers require spending points.

(http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=589061) Specificaly, Sasuke (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=8495965&postcount=3) and Kakashi (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=8499554&postcount=16).

You don't need to create any new feats or powers to duplicate the Sharingan. It can be done just fine with existing material.

06-25-07, 10:33 PM Yeah, I knew it was pretty powerful, and decided it was too powerful so I decided to just scrap the idea. I had forgotten about the Psionic Naruto thread, so I checked it out also.
