07-19-07, 02:23 AM First of all, only psionic creatures can take FoZ because Wild Talent makes you a psionic creature.

Second, creatures who are already psionic can still take Wild Talent if they want to. There is nothing barring an elan from taking Wild Talent. They would get two extra power points, which is just as good as taking Psionic Talent once.

Third, a lot of people houserule FoZ to require "a power point reserve" or "Wild Talent or Psionic Talent" instead of Wild Talent.

07-19-07, 03:21 AM I think Custserv ruled that any psionic race can be considered to have the equivalent of the Wild Talent feat, and one could argue that any PP reserve is just as good.

At least, unless one is not from the "stupid feat prerequisites are for the balance of 7331 PrCs" school of thought.

07-19-07, 01:54 PM Custserve has ruled both for and against using any power point reserve to qualify for FoZ. They contradicted themselves, as usual.

I seriously can't see any sense in using Custserve's rulings as the basis of any argument. It's no better than asking any random D&D player.

07-20-07, 12:40 AM Wasn't there a rule about virtual feats, abilities that grant a function similar to a feat. I think this would easily fall under that category.

07-20-07, 02:02 AM Virtual feats always say "as the feat" or something similar. The Naturally Psionic ability doesn't say anything like "as if you had Wild Talent."

I'm all in favor of allowing anybody with a power point reserve to enter FoZ. It's realy not such a fantastically powerful class (although it awesome) that it needs a sacrificial feat to enter.
