Comes the psionic version of the rogue. the Lurk. This class seems to be quite nice as an alternative to the standard rogue. Throw some nice powers in there, and they have that nifty lurk augment, which allows them to do so many interesting things. And they have a nice, big skill list, akin to the rogue. But, they don't have hardly any skill points.

Are they REALLY supposed to only have 4 skill points? Seems kind of low for a mostly skill monkey class. I think it should be 6. What does everyone else think?

The lurk is NOT the psionic rogue. The lurk is an assassin, a thug, a killer, not a skillmonkey. Still, 4 skill points in an Int-based class isn't bad at all.

If you want a psionic skillmonkey, you'll use the Psychic Rogue, which was released through the Mind's Eye LONG before Complete Psionic. A direct link is in the FAQ at the top of this forum.

I see. I was under the impression that was what they were going for, there. But, the flavor text does lean more towards what you are saying.

As for the Psychic Rogue, I already have that printed out. however, I thought it was just a varient idea, not 'official', per se. But yeah, I really like the Psychic Rogue.

my only thought was the Lurk could really benefit from more skill points, what with it having so many skills on its list.

However, you are right about that being a pretty good number of skill points for an Int based class. Effectively, a human Lurk with a 16 in Int would have 8 skills at max ranks. Not bad, not bad at all.

Again, the only reason I suggested that it was a 'skill monkey' class is the large number of skills they have available.

I was considering making one for a quick side game, where in we are 11th level. I have decided to do the skill monkey of the party, as the rest of the group is all melee for the most part. (Yikes, no magic, aside from a Sorc/Monk/Enlightended Fist). I figured I would do the UMD thing, and have some nice wands and scrolls handy to help out with. The amazing amount of damage tha can be done with a augmented sneak attack is nice, but I think I am going to go with the regular rogue, after all.

I'd recommend going the psyrogue instead :) I just think it's a better class than the base rogue, but I admit to a strong psi-bias.

Well, I really like Psionics, too. I have considered doing just that. My race is Kenku, as I like the Great Ally racial ability they have. Plus, Mimicry can be so much fun, too. LOL

Hmm, have the psionic bird man, huh? Interesting idea...

However, the main reason for this guy is the skills. We are playing a module, and the DM has told us we better have some REALLY good trap finding, and the like.
