Then, I started reading and reading and ... my eyes glazed over :) The DM wants to try something different with the characters, so I can also apply the voidmind template to the build as well. This template gives +4 str/+2 dex/+2 con/+2 int/-2 char. The template gives alertness, combat reflexes and great fortitude as bonus feats. And immunity to Acid, mind-affecting effects, ability drain, ability damage, and energy. The template provides a tentacle with a 5' reach that has Imp Grapple which can act completely independent of the PC during a round. And, I get +4 racial on grab, bluff, escape artist, intimidate, DR5/magic, but costs a LA1. Since I need the ECL to be 10, I think this means I can start at lvl 9. For additional fun, I wanted to try and include a psicrystal that specializes in scout/trip so my attacks will be better, and give me that cushion for psychic focus?(?) I have been looking at the various threads trying to find a build that can be adapted. The closest I can see is the Synod Buff-Machine (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11257562&postcount=7) by carnivore. (part of the psychic warrior built guide?) Thing is, I don't know if Synod's are allowed, and don't see how to get something similar with a human. (really wish search worked on these boards). I read the entire psicrystal thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=777184), the thread on "so my psicrystal gets feats", and alot of others until my eyes glazed over. So, how do I get a pure human PW (lvl1-20) that can buff, have a psicrystal for scouting/tripping, and still output reasonable damage? I was thinking of using a rapier or scimitar with imp crit and weapon focus to really expand the threat range. I could also take a couple of flaws (say shaky and frail), and then pick up two more feats. While it seems like asking alot, the bottom line is a PC that is just fun to play but will be able to hold his own/contribute in a party where there are going to be some truly 'monstrous' PC's as well. If this is alot of work, just say so, and I will try and get a better idea together before posting a question. Thanks! |

Powers like Expansion works great to give you both reach and grappling ability. |
