Suppose one were to select the Hidden Talent rather than the basic Wild Talent bonus feat at 1st level. Does that make the character a manifester? Do the SK levels count toward increasing duration, etc of the power? Would the SK be able to qualify for feats that require x manifester level?

Just random scary thoughts.

It clearly says that it doesn't count as an actual manifester level. Thus, the answers to each of your questions would be no, no, and no.

Okay I just managed to re read the feat and I don't see where it says that it doesn't count towards manifester levels, etc.

Here is the link that I have.

Can you give me a link with different information...or point out to me where I am being clue impared?

Thanks.

In the description of hidden talent it says: "if you have psionic class levels, you can manifest the power at the highest manifester level you have attained".
Since soulknife has no ML, you manifest your power at ML1.

Although i d not understand this: "You gain 2 psionic power points, can now learn any psionic feat for which you meet the prerequisites, can expend your psionic focus, and can gain a single 1st-level power from any list." Shouldn't it look like: "You gain 2 psionic power points, and can gain a single 1st-level power from any list."?

They're just being overly cautious with their wording. You gain all of those underlined abilities just for being a psionic character, which is what you are if you have Hidden Talent.

PEACH shows that instead of being just another random discussion it actually has homebrew material in it.

So please stop mocking it, it has a useful purpose in life and most of us that do use PEACH generally ignore threads from folks who do this.

Please do not take offense I mock everything, it is just my way. I still think peach is funny. Who doesn't want an honest opinion and critique? I will try and mock other things for awhile in deference to your delicate sensabilities.

It emerged not to mark homebrew material, but rather because the Monsters forum was at one point choked with so many spammers and monster jokers that people who wanted to carry out serious discussions about monster development couldn't get a word in edgewise, and somone thought that the answer would be creating a viral tag instead of leading by example.

It does NOT say anything about homebrew material. It's just a really, really silly way of saying "stay on topic".

Check it's original formulation; nothing specifically to do with homebrew material, just a reminder for people to read the post and respond on topic. In other words, common Internet behaviour for a civilized discussion in the public domain. It emerged, in OamuTheMonk's own words, because "I have mostly stopped looking for new creatures to critique, mainly because I'm tired of sifting sh--, looking for a sincere attempt at creativity. This is not fair to those folks who honestly want feedback." In other terms, people were flooding the boards with, essentially, spam, and had no intention of carrying on a civilized discussion relating to created monsters, meaning people who wanted such feedback couldn't be heard due to the morons. Other people were being dipweeds, to such an extent that Oamu came up with PEACH in an effort to stand out from the ****. This wouldn't have happened if people actually understood what a forum meant -- the flooding, I mean, and in turn, PEACH. It isn't necessary unless people don't think -- which apparently was the case on at least the Monsters forum at one point.

Let's examine it and see why it's unnecessary.
1) By posting it, people must voluntarily choose to read your thread. This is the implied "Please".
2) Your post contains text. You want people to read this. Otherwise, why would you have written it? There's the "Examine".
3) "And" is a grammatical tool, not a key word in the sentence; it's only tangentially implied (since more than one implication is present)
4) If you didn't want other people's opinions, you wouldn't have put it in the public domain in a thread that people could reply to. If they do not post on the topic of the thread, then they are off-topic and essentially misbehaving anyway. This contains everything you could want from "Critique" -- focusing on your material and responding to it.
5) On a related note, if people all lied, then their feedback would essentially be worthless. The very nature of wanting feedback requires some degree of honesty -- thus, "Honestly" is implied.
Everything about PEACH is already there by the mere existence of your post. Thus, PEACH is as redundant and unnecessary as me typing "You are reading text right now". It's already understood by anyone with a shred of intelligence.

It's also so ludicrously rare on the Psi forums* (thankfully) that I believe you're the only one who consistently uses it, VT. Thus, I agree with you that his mockery of it was misguided at best -- he should have deployed it on a board that actually uses PEACH.

At least it's better than SHIO. That's the equivalent of "not in the face, not in the face!". Then again, "it's better than being spineless" isn't exactly a good merit.

For the record, every single piece of my homebrew material has shown up without PEACH. I get lots of honest and helpful feedback on it anyway. So not only is it redudant, it is demonstratably unnecessary as well.

* I believe it's rare on the psi boards because the people on this forum tend to be intelligent and courteous anyway, and thus PEACH is not only unnecessary as always, but also an insult to people who don't need to be reminded to stay on topic and respond politely.

Yup, better than most. But its an old, worn out, senile joke by this time and most folks who did it weren't just being funny.

It is both and is what I use it for.

Trib, it was just a joke. No need to get upset. I take my faith very seriously, but I don't get upset by every stupid "rofl jesus evasion half dmg" joke despite hearing it a million times.

Anyhow, the soulknife is doodie. It should have been subject to the PEACH process. Average BAB, my eye...
