Its been a while but i need some help
Im interested in taking some host feats but im not sure how to do so. I get the fact that i have to be a host to a quori (or similar creature i believe) but im not sure how this works. Does being a host increase my ecl and does it give me any special benefits?

Thanks for any help

Actually, no you don't. The text leading up to the feats mentions the need to already be a host to a psionic entity, but then you look at the actual feats and it says something else entirely.

Look at the Prereq line of each feat. Only 3 host feats actually have prereqs (any other host feat, and in 1 case, Mind Blade). None of the feats list being the host of a psionic entity as a prereq. So you think, OK, so they didn't list it as a prereq for each individual feat, just as they didn't list Exalted status as a prereq under each exalted feat. But it gets better, go on to the benefit line...

The benefit line for each host feat that does not have specific prereqs says: "A psionic entity takes up residence within your flesh."

Though stated at the top of the section as a requirement, the feats themselves grant this condition as part of the benefit of taking the feat. Therefore, you can take the feat and it makes you a host to a psionic entity.

Why? Because the book is just that bad. Or at least the editing is; there was probably a change in plans as to how the feats would work and either the feats themselves or the section intro was not cleaned up.

I see what u mean. It seemed kinda strange at first but i didn't make too much of it. I try to give CPsi the benefit of the thought but its hard (im still ticked off about the hole astral construct changes and the multiple mind blade feats) but its just so hard. I remembered after reading the ur post that in CAr there where feats that granted spell-like abilities like communicator and insightful that granted similar benefits as the host feats. Id still like to use the feats so i guess ill house rule it (like most Cpsi content).

When trying to figure it out, the general rule is: In the absence of official errata, if the actual text of a feat is in conflict with a table or summary presented elsewhere, go with what the actual feat says.

So as much as it might not make sense, taking one of these feats actually makes you a host.

If you go by what the section intro text says, each of these feats is also a psionic feat, even though they don't each have the [Psionic] descriptor. This means:

1) You need the to have the psionic type to take them.
2) Psychic warriors and psions may select Host feats as bonus feats.
3) Each host feat gives you +2 hit points if you have the Psionic Body feat.
4) If someone manifests Feat Leech on you they actually suck the psionic entity right out of you and cause it to take up residence in their flesh while they have control of the feat.
