How much would this power stone cost?

No.

Medium 1d4 powers
Major 1d6 powersNote how major power stones only have up to 6 powers. Methinks you've got more than 6 there.

Honestly? I think you're better off making that into a Psicrown. Much more efficient, as you'll be able to use those powers more than once.

No.

But, that's just for the treasure tables. Nothing says you can't have, like, a really really big stone with lots of encoding. Perfectly logical. Just like having a thirty-foot long scroll.

Okay, so it's not perfectly logical. But you could do it!

And the rules don't say that you can't have a psicrystal that can shoot frickin' laser beams from its metaphysical 'eyes', while being a zombie ninja pirate jedi that rides a robot dinosaur that transforms into a motorcycle. Doesn't mean you *can*.

Tempest, you're embarassing yourself.
And Eikre, I think I agree with you that the table that lists number of powers is for random treasure generation, although that could be argued either way. As for price, I believe each power is counted at it's normal cost. The only benefit of having them all encoded on one stone is saving space.

Oh, that's a terrible argument and you know it. The rules don't say that you can stop a person from moving by killing them, either. You can remove their soul from their body, yes, but nothing here says that inflicting death will stop the fight.

I speculate that powerstones are encoded,at least in part, physically, much like a scroll is printed physically, and that by creating one with more mass to sustain more code or writing, you can get more powers into it. This would be extraordinarily useless in a combat situation, as it would take a spot of luck or some impressive searching skills to procure the section on the power/spell you'd like to use, and, for convenience, nobody really bothers.

I also move that that psicrystal could fire lasers from his eyes and so on and so forth, because it's actually the Astral Seed of my thrall, a necropolitan cerebremancer, with Ocular Spell, a level in Ninja and Dread Pirate, and a proclivity to call his psionics "the force." My other thrall is a warforged with Metamorphisis who tends towards the shapes of large lizards and fast transportation, who has standing orders to carry his peer.

QED. Back to you, Mr. Stormwind.

I think the point isn't "what would it cost," but rather, "why?"

With that power stone you are basically carrying a psionic character around in your back pocket (or large sack or whatever).

It's way too unbalancing to even *consider* allowing (for me anyway).

I don't see how it is unbalancing. If he is willing to pay for it, then why not? Its the same as letting him buy smaller, reasonably sized stones with only a couple powers from the list encoded, but getting enough of them that he eventually had the entire list. The only difference is that this way one thief somewhere is going to get real lucky.

Didn't they have almost exactly that build somewhere in the Optimization Boards?

Didn't they have almost exactly that build somewhere in the Optimization Boards?

Yes, but it wasn't a psicrystal. (I know, I helped create it! (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=376014))

The point was, making statements based on "the rules don't say I can't!" is reaching. (I'm also oddly certain that I've read somewhere that a power stone has a maximum number of powers that can be stored in it, but I can't find the text I recall reading. The existence of that sentence, combined with that table, would be all the proof we'd need.)

No, I was just trying to be silly. There's no malice there. Hard to enunciate over the internet, though.

Besides, the best kind of embarassment is that which the target understands but the surrounding people think nothing about, since it doesn't lower the target's standing in anyone's perception but his own (and thus doesn't last as long in others' memories, but teaches the target the intended lesson anyway). Were I to do that to Eikre, I'd have cited Ian Jones-Quartey, gambling that that's where the username came from.

I know how strange this is about to sound, and I can't believe I'm about to actually say it, but I wouldn't allow a power stone to hold so many powers because the brainburn effect actually becomes broken!

I mean seriously, that first power stone is 34d6 of untyped damage when a brainburn is triggered! Yikes! Just payoff a 1st level rogue patsy to stand beside the king while he attempts (and fails) a UPD check*. Best part of all, brainburn doesn't flush the powers IIRC!

* Okay, that's an unreasonable example. Even so, you get the point.

No, ******* you! It's my name! Mine! I've used it longer than him! Hahaha! S'been on the net for more than a decade! It is apparently a surname of sweetish origin!

*Twitch*

EDIT: Re: Brainburn: Oh, hey. See? An actual and creditable reason why this wouldn't stand!

To actually help with the Uber Power Stone Artifact of Doom, I point you to the creating Power Stones (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/items/creatingPsionicItems.htm#creatingPowerSt ones) rules. Figure out the price for a power of each level up to 5, then multiple each respective one with the number of powers of that level.
