| Nicotinus04-04-08, 05:55 PM | I've noticed a lot of posts on this board that reference Malhavoc's Hyperconscious third party supplement. A bit before Hyperconscious came out I actual bought and downloaded its predecessor, Mindscapes: a Psions Guide. From what I've found a vast majority of the material is identical so it really doesn't warrant me purchasing the slightly updated 3.5 Hyperconscious. Having said that, I would love if someone could help me out with a few of the updates and conversions, most notable with some of the powers. For instance, people seem to talk alot about the Hyperconscious power Alloyed Hide. In Mindscapes there is no Alloyed Hide, but there is Metallize and Adamantify, which I can only assume are the powers that then became Alloyed Hide. Can someone help me out with those few Mindscape's to Hyperconscious disparities? |

In addition to updating everything that's in Mindscapes: A Psion's Guide (mostly; there's a few legacy errors here and there, such as the Astral Zealot's abilities still being keyed off of reserve power points), it also includes and updates Mindscapes: Beasts of the Id along with several pieces of new material (including remixes of a few XPH elements, such as a non-sucky Metamind, and a few totally new entities). I don't have either book with me here, and Bruce never put up an update guide, so I can't help with your question itself, but I can say it's still worth getting. |

| Nicotinus04-04-08, 07:06 PM | Thanks, had no idea there was a 3.5 upgrade patch. That was all I needed :) |
| Bacris04-04-08, 07:58 PM | Just note the date on it and the date on your copy of the PDF - no point buying it if you actually have the 3.5 version :) |
| The_Mess04-04-08, 10:45 PM | Hyperconsciousness and Mindscapes are not different versions of the same text. In fact, I don't think they repeat anything. |
| Bacris04-04-08, 11:54 PM | They do, actually. :) For example, Hyperconscious has the entire Mindscapes combat system reprinted in it. Hyperconscious is essentially If Thoughts Could Kill + Mindscapes + some new material, all rolled into one. |

Note that "Mindscapes" refers to three separate publications: "Mindscapes: A Psion's Guide", "Mindscapes: Beasts of the Id", and "Mindscapes" (which is a combination of the other two). It usually is used to refer to the first of the three, but Hyperconscious uses both "halves" of the full Mindscapes in its text, PLUS If Thoughts Could Kill's mechanical elements (except the "secondary disciplines" bit, mercifully -- no DC 80 Crisis of Breath for you), PLUS a few extra goodies, all in glorious 3.5. |
