| Rauric09-26-07, 10:07 PM | ... then implant false memories. Is there any Power or even Spell that can do that? |
| JulesCARV09-26-07, 10:12 PM | Well, psionic modify memory (telepath 4) works so long as you limit yourself to five minutes worth of false memories, and don't mindwipe everything. If you want to create a whole lifetime of false memories, though, I'm not sure. |

| Think002809-26-07, 11:32 PM | There is one spell: Programmed Amnesia. I don't have it open right now, but you can wipe a person complete blank and then restructure their personalities. |
| Sagetim09-27-07, 12:19 AM | well yeah, but it doesn't have that horribly invasive evil power that mind rape does. Hell, if you use that spell, you can make someone into a willing pawn. Then, on every full moon, you can suck the life force out of them. Then use umd and a wand of restore to fix the ability score damage. mmmm, immortality the bovd way. |
| CrimsonDeath09-27-07, 03:10 AM | Not that Mindrape or Programmed Amnesia helps a Psion. Not even an Erudite. |
| Fireclave09-27-07, 03:46 AM | Not that Mindrape or Programmed Amnesia helps a Psion. Not even an Erudite. Put the word "Psionic" in front of Programmed Amnesia, place it in the Telepath discipline, tack on a 17PP cost, and turn the 500gp material component cost into a 250xp cost (assuming the True Creation exchange rate between gp and xp). Problem solved. |

Problem solved. 100XP is more likely (the Revivify/Psionic Revivify exchange rate), but this method requires DM intervention, and may require independent research. |

| DracoPhoenix09-27-07, 09:40 AM | There's also Mind seed to consider - why wipe someone's mind when you can turn them into an ally? :) What's it for? Turning someone into a vegetable can be done with microcosm. |
| Thomar_of_Uointer09-27-07, 09:52 AM | I am the DM. I need for one NPC to use it on another. Then why can't you just say, "a telepath did it"? If it took him a few days or hours to do it, then it's never going to affect the party if they engage him in combat. BBEGs can do these sorts of things, though Eberron actually ascribes rules to it with eldritch devices. Problem solved. Try the NPC XP cost rate, 5 gp to 1 xp (minimum). It also matches the RPGA's 70% rule on crafting magic items. Just 100 xp. |

I also highly suggest looking at "Memory Crystals" from Dreamscarred Press. |

| Kyuketsukiouji09-27-07, 04:58 PM | Psionic Modify Memory works just fine. Just use it more than once. |
| IceFractal09-28-07, 03:48 AM | There was that one Mind's Eye article that gave the Erudite the option to learn spells as powers, but I don't believe it worked on 9th level spells (had to be one level lower than your max). However, it's not unreasonable to simply have it researchable as a Telepath power, and have the NPC have done so. |

He created the device that can transfer one soul into another. He did this for his employer and his payment was to become gestalt. He doesn't have the finances yet to build another device and his former employer has the other one. Plus the necromancer who helped design the Eldrich Device is on the run when he found out the true identity of the empolyer. Anyway those are the classes of the guy that is wiping and reprogramming the guy. Plus I need it done in 2 days not seven so Mind Seed is already out. Plus the BBEG plans for the mindwiped guy to take the blame for something so he is too expendable to be seeded. |
