I have never actually built a prestige class before, so please excuse my dumb ideas :D .My basic reason for this, in my current game, I have used call weapon for every fight that did not involve undead. For those fights, I actually just got a soda while our zealous cleric did his thing. Its actually been a lot of fun, and I wanted some help building a decent prestige class for him to advance in, even though it may be too focused for a main stream Prc. My basic idea was to take the pyrokineticist, convert what I could to augment the called weapons, and take the rest out and just fill the empty levels with a gain in manifester level. That seems kinda boring though, all I really ended up with is extra damage dice, and very little extra. So here are my ideas for abilities, keep in mind I dont want to use them all, I am just brainstorming here. Reduced augment cost from 4 to 3 for an increase in the enhancement bonus. A further reduction in the augment to 2 for an enhancement, and an additional enhancement 4 for any +1 equivalent enchantment (like flaming) Or, reduce enhancement augment cost to 3, allow for random rolling of weapon qualities, not to exceed bonus payed for. (pay 13 power points, you roll randomly for a weapon with a bonus of 4 or less, say +2 shocking burst, or +3 flaming) When a weapon is called, you may use the weapon as if you had one fighter feat that applied to it, such as combat reflexes with a reach weapon, or rapid reload with a crossbow. Ability to use call weapon as a quickened action. Call an oponents weapon, manifest call weapon as if fully augmented, if it is enough to pay for the weapon your opponent is using, make a disarm check with a bonus, and call his weapon to your hand. (It sounds fun, but I really think its too broken) Any help or suggestions would be welcome. |

It automatically grants an increasing enhancement bonus, and gives you a special augment to add weapon enchantments. Its in one of the mind's eye articles. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070214a |

The only problem I have is that, I have been using call weaponry for a huge variety of things, a harpoon, throwing axes, warhammer, halbred, and other stuff, so I wanted to focus on the having any weapon at hand, rather than summoning one enchanted weapon. But it does give me a nice framework and show him what I want to change. |

Of course, you could always change things around to involve your pet power, or maybe you could use incarnum to do some interesting stuff with it. Seriously, incarnum. Use Magic of Incarnum. Use incarnum. Getting a soulmeld requires only a single feat, and getting some essentia could either use up another feat, or perhaps an incarnum-based item. Really. Awesome. Book. :P |
