| Thorden_Lyon02-17-08, 11:59 AM | Hi, I am wondering if you can imprisonn a creature with wall of ectoplasm. This power doesnt allow any saves or power resistance. Can you catch a flying creature with a sphere of ectoplasm? Can you imprison someone in an hemisphere? Thanks for answers |

However, a wall of ectoplasm is a metacreativity (creation) effect, and so must be brought to existence on a sturdy surface, such as the ground. A creature or object brought into being cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it. The creature or object must appear within the power’s range, but it does not have to remain within the range. You can't make one in midair, unless you use some feat or something that grants you the ability to do so (see my powers revision; I've built it into an augment). Funny thing; from this rule, you actually have to fire your crystal shards into the ground, or they fizzle... |

| CrimsonDeath02-17-08, 03:27 PM | It's about as sturdy as a Wall of Stone. |

You could fire them along the ground, I guess, or make them appear on your hand before launching towards the target. Which reminds me, a picture of that guy from FF VIII getting impaled (or maybe one of the crystal just before he gets impaled) would make a good motivator for crystal shard. Note: I haven't played the game, but I've seen bits of the cutscene in question. For flying creatures, you could trap them if they were close enough to a surface that could support a wall of ectoplasm. |

Which reminds me, a picture of that guy from FF VIII getting impaled (or maybe one of the crystal just before he gets impaled) would make a good motivator for crystal shard. Note: I haven't played the game, but I've seen bits of the cutscene in question. I think that one's been done before; just a matter of finding it. (It would also be a good one for "Hit Points", since despite being stabbed through the chest with a two-foot length of ice, all that does is put him under for a few days with no serious injury.) |
