Inertial Armor CORE [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-05-08, 02:31 PM Ironically, I'm putting this in the Psionics forum when I'm looking to see about Githzerai and intertial armor without the implementation of psionics.

In MM Githzerai have Inertial Armor (Sp). I can assume that since it's (Sp) that it takes a standard action to activate. And the description in MM (not psionics handbook mind you) states that it lasts until they are unconcious. I get all that.

The only thing is that it doesn't list an amount of uses per day, nor does it say "At Will". Do Githzerai have a limit to the usage of this ability? Can they go unconcious, lose the AC bonus, regain conciousness and activate it again?

Also, I seem to be a little rusty on ability descriptors. What does the fact that the ability name is in italics mean? (if anything)

03-05-08, 02:47 PM I think the MM githzerai have it as an always-on ability. Unlike the psi version, it doesn't augment, though.

With no explicit limit, assume it's always on (except where it says it isn't, i.e. when it's unconscious).

Just that it's a spell or spell-like ability.

For the record, the main psionics book is the Expanded Psionics Handbook. The "psionics handbook" is out of date and horribly done. (See the FAQ in my sig.)

All 'at will' abilities are like this, with no express limit given. 3/per day is a houserule I've seen before on some of the more troublesome 'at will' abilities.
