Is there a feat similar to Practiced Manifester, but for Level Adjustments? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-02-07, 02:18 AM Is there a feat similar to Practiced Manifester (Complete Psionics pg. 57), but for characters with level adjustments instead of multiclassed characters? My +3 LA is really starting to hurt our campaign. :(

06-02-07, 02:38 AM Not that I know of. Pretty sure there's none anywhere. However, there are LA buyoffs in Unearthed Arcana. Maybe you could talk to you DM about gradually paying off your LA?

Rules #1 and #0 respectively: Thou shalt remember manifester level caps, and Thou shalt bow to the DM's wishes (ie, the DM might not always be right, but he's the one in control).

In case you don't own a hardcopy of Unearthed Arcana, you can look up the rules text for LA buy-offs here. (http://systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/unearthedRaces.html) Don't worry. It's legal. The book was published under the Open Gaming License.

Essentially, you pay a little bit of XP to get rid of your LA. It's little enough XP that you can catch up to the rest of the party soon enough. The idea is that, after a while, the abilities you got for your level adjustment just stop being worth the lost class levels (as you yourself can attest).
