| Tempest Stormwind05-10-07, 03:04 PM | Since Rope Trick is a great utility spell, I was wondering if there was a psionic version of it. cheers! It's not so much a "great utility spell" as "borderline ****ing broken", but if you're interested in it, Psychoportative Shelter in Complete Loadofcrap (er, Complete Psionic) is essentially the same. |
| InkBlot05-10-07, 03:04 PM | Yes. There's one in Complete Psionic called psychoportative shelter. It works practically exactly the same, except without the rope. I'm 78% positive that psychoportative shelter is a reprint from The Mind's Eye, or that an identical power appeared there as well. |
| CrimsonDeath05-10-07, 04:12 PM | Psychoportive Shelter struck me as more of a Leomund's Tiny Hut ripoff... |
| carnivore05-10-07, 04:31 PM | actually Psychoportive Shelter will allow you to hold extremely large Creatures(Colossal...when Augmented)....so you could go in with your pet Tarrasque :P :D |
| InkBlot05-10-07, 04:42 PM | Psychoportive Shelter struck me as more of a Leomund's Tiny Hut ripoff... How so? Psychoportative shelter creates an extradimensional space with a single nearly-indescernable entrance, just like rope trick. Creatures inside the shelter can look out but creatures outside can't look in, just like rope trick. Spells and powers can't cross the shelter's dimensional interface, just like rope trick. It's 2nd level, just like rope trick. |
| PhaedrusXY05-10-07, 04:49 PM | actually Psychoportive Shelter will allow you to hold extremely large Creatures(Colossal...when Augmented)....so you could go in with your pet Tarrasque :P :DRope Trick specifically says it can hold 8 creatures "of any size". So you could fit 8 tarrasques into one. As usual, Magic wins. :D |

Bad guys- "Hmmm I wonder where those pesky do-gooders went, I guess we'll just look over...Ooga booga!(DISPEL MAGIC)" *8 tarrasques fill the area* Bad guys-"Fudge..." |

| AntiDjinn05-10-07, 08:54 PM | Psychoportive Shelter really should be nomad 2, rather than a general list power. Too many effects that should be property of the space-time manipulating nomad are on the general list. Since many DMs feel that Rope Trick is overpowered for its level, assigning the psionic version to a discipline list should allay those fears for psionics. If it is truly broken then it should be well worth a feat for non-nomads and nomads could use more than they have been given. |

| Wrong05-11-07, 05:05 PM | Unlike rope trick, the manifesting time is a lot much longer… |
| The Livewire05-11-07, 09:31 PM | Got a link to this errata? only in my head, sorry |
| Zemyla05-12-07, 02:48 PM | only in my head, sorry You have links to stuff in your head? That's hard core. |
| GhostStepper05-13-07, 01:17 AM | You have links to stuff in your head? That's hard core. That reminds me of the "psychic internet" in my psionics-only campaign called the mindspace (not to be confused with myspace though people's images there do tend to look better than in real life). lol |

(http://www.dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2002-08-27) (Insert requisite Society Mind joke here. There were literally hundreds during development once someone made the initial joke of an epic level society mind who might have the initials ISP. I think the best of those was how to get people to shut up telepathically without cutting their service: we noticed that Unearthly Terror's flavor perfectly fit modern shock sites (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_site).
