| heavenisme02-02-08, 08:38 AM | Hello there Psi community, I am wondering if there's any way I can manifest a 7th level astral construct at 10th level? I have overchannel & I have a 10th level psion. 1. So my question is are there any feats or items that raise your manifester level by one? 2. Or are there any items or feats that lower the cost of a power by one? I looked at meta power but it's just for meta psionic feats not the actual power point cost. So if there's a way please let me know. |
| Fatalis_90202-02-08, 09:26 AM | A Torc of Powr Preservation (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/items/universalItems.htm#torcofPowerPreservati on) reduces the cost of all powers manifested by 1 PP. It's 36,000 GP, which I believe is a bit outside your single item price range at 10th level. As for raising your manifester level by 1, Overchannel is the only way I know of, at least if you wanna go beyond your hit dice. If you have levels in multiple classes, and have lost manifester levels that way, the Practiced Manifester feat can get some of those back. Keep in mind that it can't raise your manifester level beyond your hit dice, and it will raise it no more than by 4. Also, it does not grant new powers known, or access to higher level powers, except in the case of the Ardent. |

In the Magic Item Compendium, the Torc Of Power Preservation was updated to be only 4,000gp, but restricted to 5 uses per day (MIC, p143). |

I'd allow both. The cheap one with its limited uses per day, and then the expensive one with its unlimited uses per day. |
| The_Ditto02-03-08, 09:16 AM | Keep in mind a torc of power preservation doesn't allow a psion to manifest more pp than he's allowed ... it only saves the pp after he's picked them .. Orange Ioun stone is the way to go ... :tiphat: |

The Astral Master feat would do exactly what you're looking for. +1 ML when manifesting Creation powers. ASTRAL MASTER [PSIONIC, SEQUESTRAL] The power to create astral constructs is at your fingertips. Prerequisite: Ability to manifest 2nd level powers. Benefit: As long as you have a creation power of 2nd level or higher sequestered, you may summon an astral construct of a level equal to one half the level of the power sequestered. The duration of the astral construct is 1 round per level of the power sequestered. This astral construct does not benefit from feats such as Boost Construct. You may only have one astral construct active from this feat at any given time. As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus to your manifester level when manifesting creation powers. |
| hogarth02-03-08, 12:03 PM | Orange ion stone (with magic/psionics transparency) There are lots of ways to boost your caster level (Craft Magic Tattoo, Death Knell, Consumptive Field, Increase Spellpower bardic music, Creation/Artifice domain power, etc.). If your DM allows these to boost your manifester level, then you're choices increase significantly. |
| AtsuiShoto02-04-08, 12:29 PM | There's always the Earth Power[RoS] feat. It requires Earth Sense, which isn't such a bad choice, and Wis&Con 13+, which is not a big deal for a manifester. |
| Jaid02-04-08, 07:07 PM | you can also use link power + metapower if you don't think your DM will nuke you for using that particular loophole ;) |
| ReaderOfPosts02-06-08, 04:15 PM | Off the top of my head, there's a feat (Midnight augmentation) in Magic of Incarnum that lets you invest incarnum to augment a single power for free. Depending on what you're planning (probably trying to grab an augment option) this does it. For telepathy powers, the Illithid feats offer a feat costly option giving you +1 manifester level and +1 DC on compulsion powers, which can be useful for dominate crazy telepaths. The Kalashtar substitution level/ Changeling substitution level (I think) lets you add +1 ML for telepathy/ psychometalism respectively. I believe practiced manifestor will give you a bonus if under the effect of inspire greatness (from a bard) You can also beat the normal level you can use by crafting a dorje+ dorje mastery feat, which gives you 4 free points of augmentation. Else, overchannel and wildsurge. |
| Wizard Random02-06-08, 05:56 PM | IIRC there was a feat dropped out in one of the Faerun web enhancements that gave a +2 ML to Clarienestance powers. I think the article was about Elans in Forgotten Realms EDIT: Found it Here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frcc/20070620) |
