So, that means that a 10th level Psion/10th level Pyro can fire off a bolt of 20d6 for a standard action every turn? |
| Tempest Stormwind05-08-07, 09:23 PM | I was reading through the Pyrokinetisist and it states (not going to retype the entire thing because of copyright violation) that they can fire off a blast of fire for 1d6 per levelthe Pyro has. So, that means that a 10th level Psion/10th level Pyro can fire off a bolt of 20d6 for a standard action every turn? No. When a class says "level" it always means "class level" unless it says otherwise. When a spell says "level" it always means "caster level" unless it says otherwise. When a feat says "level" it USUALLY means character level; it will specify if it doesn't. If it were per character level, it would say per character level. Still, 10d6 is nearly as strong as a high-level warlock, if less versatile. |
| RazielK05-08-07, 09:25 PM | It says class level. Is that the same thing as character level? Sorry, I have been out of practice... |
| Lycanthromancer05-08-07, 09:35 PM | Class level = the number of levels you have in a single class. Character level = the number of total levels your character has. |
| RazielK05-08-07, 09:36 PM | Thank you, sorry about that guys. |
| AntiDjinn05-08-07, 11:03 PM | If a class has a feature that says "class level" then it means levels in the class in question. It matters not how many levels you might have in another class. So Psion 10/Pyro 10 has a class level of 10 for purposes of his pyro specials. Psion 19/Pyro 1 has a pyro level of 1. |
| RazielK05-08-07, 11:59 PM | Thank you everyone for being so kind and immediately responsive. I have recently been on another forum (for Yu-Gi-Oh) and everyone are jerks there, especially when you ask a question. It is nice to see Tempest and Anti again, they have assisted me several times prior and always been kind to me. (Rather respectable too.) To Lycanthromancer: you're post was brief and to the point, which helped a lot also. Thank you too. |
| Lycanthromancer05-10-07, 04:05 PM | No problem whatsoever. I do have a tendency to be rather locquatious, so I reign in my responses when possible. That, and I use big words, which I'm also trying to curb. Regardless, your appreciation is...appreciated. And I shall shut up now. |
