This is probably all carefully explained somewhere I haven't found yet, but since it's late and I've no doubt minds more powerful than my own have the answers at their fingertips I'm coming to you lot.

This is my 1st time playing a Psion (specifically a Kineticist) and I'm wondering about -to hit-

I know if something has the Effect: Ray descriptor it requires a rng'd touch attack roll but what about some of the powers that don't say.

Concussion Blast: Seems to pretty well imply that it autohits. After reading it my DM and I decided the minor damage was the result of the power being an autohit and offering no save roll, but other powers that do more damage are less clr and our premise may be flawed.

Energy Missile: Autohit?

Energy Burst: Autohit?

Energy Bolt: Autohit?

Anyone who can shed some light would be well loved. Thank you in advance for any kindness you can offer someone who hasn't played in almost 20 years (OMG I'm old).

Any spell or power that has a "Target" entry instead of an "Effect" or "Area" entry automatically affects the target of the spell or power. The target may or may not have to make a save.

Any spell or power that has an "Area" entry affects all valid creatures and objects within its area. Again, the creatures or objects may or may not have to make a save.

Details about this can be found here: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicPowersOverview.htm#aimingAPower

Yup - if it allows a Save and it isn't a Ray or Touch effect, it autohits - but the saving throw usually allows the target to avoid some or all of the effect - Reflex negates, Fort negates, Reflex half, etc.

Concussion Blast also deals less damage because it is a Force effect.
