| Brok_the_Ranger06-02-07, 06:23 PM | OK here is the situation. We play 3.0. I have an epic Monk/Psion 16/16. What i want to know is if I use the Shadow body power can I use another character or monster as a "surface" to move onto? The power is on pg 99 of Psionist Handbook. I'm more or less looking for basic DM adjucations. I may give my argumants to responses but more or less only to get justification on rulings. My DM has already ruled on the situation I am just looking for other opinions. Brok |

| Nifft06-02-07, 06:59 PM | The power specifies that your space does not chance, so I'd rule that you can't be on a creature as a surface unless you could normally occupy a space on that creature -- a devastation vermin, perhaps. Cheers, -- N |

| Brok_the_Ranger06-03-07, 10:59 AM | Ok My DM ruled it would be a reflex save for the character I am trying to "attach" to. I think that is fair sort of. I think it makes it to easy to avoid. But he has final say. I am not looking for ammunition against my Dm I am just looking for other oppinions. As to the 3.0 Psionics I agree they suck the big wally boo boo. However my Dm also has the sayso as to the game rules, well the fact that the whole group is stuck in 3.0 helps his cause. I used some of my earnings from Iraq to upgrade to 3.5 and most of the rest of the group is still in 3.0. So back to the issue. I could agree to the reflex save but I would give the attacker (me or who ever is using it this way) a bonus to the save vs. the defender, say the bonus that would apply to the power (a STR Bonus). Or even a bonus based on class level or power level. But what he hasent told me is the DC for the save. This whole idea is the result of trying to think outside of the box to compensate for toe to toe combat with other single classed or fighter based classes. Not a situation I want to be just one we ended up in as a party. SO feed back is still encourged. Thakyou for your support. Brok |
