manifester level [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-21-07, 10:58 AM Is there a way to increase the manifester/caster level for an Spell-like ability without increasing HD? I ask this beacause many of the builds i find using Pyrokynetist get 10 lvls of the clas but the special abilities RAW get you a manifester level of 10, so most creatures with spell resistance ( heck, does have to be even too high) will make your abilities useless.

05-22-07, 03:32 PM Sorry, but until you reach epic (and take more levels of the class), you're stuck with them.

That is, of course, unless there's some way of which I am not aware.

Of course, you could take that feat that turns a Sp into a Su, but I'm not sure what that feat is, or where to find it. It'd allow you to bypass SR completely.

Empower Spell-Like Ability (BoVD v1), MM 3.5, MM 3, Savage Species
Heighted Spell-Like Ability (Comp Arcane)
Spell-Like Ability Focus (Races of Faerun)

All all Feats to boost the DC's & such on your spell-like ability

I am away from my books at the moment and it doesnt look like the abilities themselves say what your manifester level for them is (in the SRD at least). Perhaps they already have a manifester level of your hd total?

Either of those would fix the problem although I think most of the abilities being Su instead of Psi seems like the best option.
