If a cerebremancer knows "Maximize spell" would that work for the psion powers as well? Same thing for all metamagic/powers.

No, there is no transparency between the metapsionic and metamagic feats.

I remember reading a thread earlier and the consensus was it wouldn't be an unbalancing house rule, as long as the metamagic or metapsionic feat has an equal on the other side.

In talking with my gaming group, they figured it was balanced but that it might be best to require a feat or class ability to do so. Something like...

Meta Convergence [Psionic]
You can apply your metamagic or metapsionic feats to both spells and powers.

Benefit: If you have a metapsionic or metamagic feat, you may apply the opposite feat to your spells or powers using the rules for the appropriate feat.

Normal: You may not apply metamagic feats to powers or metapsionic feats to spells.

Something like that. I just wrote that up in a few seconds, it definitely needs clearer language.
