It depends on which type of pyrohydra s/he turns into. They vary, up to 12 heads in the Monster Manual alone. The number of HD of the hydra equals the number of heads and the number of bite attacks it gets.

Also I don't think templates are allowed when polymorphing, unless metamorphing is the exception

Pyrohydras aren't a template. They're a standard creature. So they are specifically allowed.

If you have the Metamorphic Transfer feat, you can even use 5-12 breath weapons in a single round. :D

Any 10th level psion can have metamorphosis and Overchannel to produce 36d6 blasts (cold or fire) that bypass SR/PR. Very few creatures have high resistance to BOTH cold and fire, so usually one will work. I consider this the upper level of psionic direct damage. While powerful, it's nothing compared to - say - an optimized incantantrix yadda yadda etc. etc. arcane stuff.

Metamorphasis doesn't ban templating the creatures. Still silly to try to pull that though.

Metamorphosis does not work that way!!

You acquire the physical qualities of the new form while retaining your own mind. Physical qualities include natural size, mundane movement capabilities (such as burrowing, climbing, walking, swimming, and flight with wings, to a maximum speed of 120 feet for flying or 60 feet for nonflying movement), natural armor bonus, natural weapons (such as claws or a bite), racial bonuses on skill checks, racial bonus feats, and any anatomical qualities (presence or absence of wings, number of extremities, and so forth). A body with extra limbs does not allow you to make more attacks (or more advantageous two-weapon attacks) than normal.

So no go there. It would be too overpowered and banned by any sane DM after one try anyway

Archer is right. You just can't use additional weapons, though you do gain the creature's entire natural attack routine, regardless of how many natural weapons it has.

Now I'm wondering how mouthpick weapons interact. They are kind of both at the same time.

So does it work or not? Inquireing DM's want to know........ Does a Psion metamorphed into a Hydra get an attack for each head?

You gain the natural attack routine of the creature you're metamorphed into. The 'no additional attacks' clause refers to creatures with multiple limbs that can wield manufactured weapons.

Otherwise, metamorphosis is pretty useless.

I suspect errata was applied without me ever noticing. In any case that's a good thing.
