You break the morph if you manifest, but think about the benefits of always being an object at the start of an encounter before you can act: *no sneak attack *up to hardness 15 should take the edge of anything magical or mundane that hits you *cannot be targeted with anything that targets creatures *unless your opponent has true seeing active, you're probably not even considered a threat. However, you loose all mobility. The question is: which object to be? I think you should be a psicrystal sized mithral husk! Why? You essentially create a snug mithral box with holes in it (just big enough for the spidery legs of the psicrystal). You now have mobility via your psicrystal. You also provide total cover for the psicrystal, which means it cannot be attacked, nor does a spell have line of effect to it. It's a lot like putting a human in a mithral barrel. You, as an object, can be targeted however, but you still have hardness 15 (plus there's the issue of spotting you/the psicrystal to begin with). And of course, you're an object so no surprise finger of death, baleful polymorph, hold monster, dominate, slow etc. etc. Then, when it's your turn, you can decide what to do. Perhaps choose another metamorphosis form, and share the fun with your psicrystal? Or put up some barrier or wall to protect you further when you snap out of the object state. |

Turn into a 5,000,000,000,000,000,000 mile diameter iron sphere, and crush the world with your gravity. I wonder if that would be enough to become a black hole? |
| hovnarr09-04-07, 09:27 AM | Hahaha, though it doesn't say so specifically, I assume the gargantuan-fine range would apply similarly to objects. Also, you keep your own hp, so that iron ball would likely revert to normal form (a dying psion) before anything dangerous happened. |
| carnivore09-04-07, 12:27 PM | be a Ming Vase or something of Value :D |
| PhaedrusXY09-04-07, 01:02 PM | A pool of acid. A bucketfull of napalm. A flaskfull of Black Lotus Extract :D |
| hovnarr09-04-07, 01:19 PM | A valuable object could be a good way to gain access to a location. Instead of buying yourself into an exclusive club, sell yourself into one! Better yet, be a gold piece. As for a liquid, what happens to you if you get scattered? Do you take damage? I suppose a "flask of X" would fall under such complex objects that you can't be with metamorphosis. But just gaining object status (and hardness 15!) is in itself pretty impressive (though not broken) when it lasts several hours. |

I'm suspicious. I'd want to avoid attention. Become a rock. Or other object completely native to the landscape. Maybe a single grain of sand. Especially if it's a desert. Hah! Find me now. |

Good luck getting out once you're at the bottom of a sand dune. (Might not be a bad idea for an Asherati Egoist, though.) |

| The Livewire09-05-07, 08:24 PM | Trick I did with my Erudite when keeping track of her and her cohort was too much: 1) Manifest Mindlink with said cohort. 2) Buff up cohort as much as I can 3) transform into a necklace on cohort. This gave me mobility, a way to communicate with the party, and took up less space in cramped areas. Plus I got one nasty surprise power when I needed it. |
